We’re looking for an experienced Sales Consultant to lead business development efforts across our New Construction and Re-Roofing divisions. This role is responsible for identifying, qualifying, and securing large-scale commercial, industrial, and institutional roofing projects. The ideal candidate has deep technical knowledge of roofing systems, a strong network in the construction industry, and the confidence to engage with high-level clients and decision-makers to win new work.
What You’ll Do
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the commercial, industrial, and institutional roofing sectors
- Build and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, developers, consultants, and property managers
- Respond to tenders, negotiate private bids, and prequalify Empire with strategic clients
- Collaborate with estimators and project managers to ensure accurate pricing, clear scopes, and competitive proposals
- Conduct site walks, attend pre-bid meetings, and review architectural drawings and specifications
- Develop customized sales strategies to win complex or high-value projects
- Track opportunities through the CRM system, forecast closing timelines, and follow up on open proposals
- Represent Empire at trade shows, networking events, and industry association meetings
- Support the smooth transition of awarded projects to operations, ensuring all documentation and expectations are aligned
What You Bring
- 3+ years of experience in sales, business development, or account management within construction or commercial services
- Strong technical understanding of roofing systems and the construction process
- Proven ability to meet and exceed revenue targets and maintain a strong, active sales pipeline
- Excellent relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills
- Highly organized with strong time management and attention to detail
- Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and estimating or bid tracking tools
- A self-starter with a results-oriented mindset and the ability to thrive independently
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for meetings, site visits, and industry events
