Spiecapag has delivered large-scale pipeline infrastructure and construction projects across Australia and the Asia Pacific region for more than 20 years. With new projects and continued growth, we are seeking a Procurement Officer to support our corporate and project teams.
What is the job opportunity?
We are seeking an experienced Procurement Officer with a background in mining, oil & gas, water or infrastructure projects. This project-based role will commence in our Brisbane office to support project planning, before transitioning into site-based project roles.
Your role will include
- Receive and action Simplified Requests (material requests) from internal stakeholders.
- In conjunction with Stores, confirm whether requests can be fulfilled internally or require vendor supply, including reference to Spiecapag framework agreements where required.
- Source best-for-project goods and services, identifying alternative products/services to improve cost, schedule, quality, safety or environmental outcomes.
- Prepare and maintain the Sub-Contract & Procurement Status Register for a specific tender or project, and maintain a Simplified Request (SR) register to track status.
- Complete vendor due diligence and support vendor database management.
- Prepare Requests for Quotation (RFQs) including technical scope, cost, schedule, quality, safety and environmental requirements.
- Prepare commercial bid analysis to determine best value and support internal approvals (including Recommendations to Award where required).
- Load internal approval documentation into the ERP system (Si Compta or similar) and raise purchase/contract orders with agreed terms and conditions.
- Liaise with vendors to schedule/expedite deliveries and resolve shortages, late deliveries, changes or cancellations; respond to project and supplier enquiries on order status.
- Track delivery dockets, record receipts and maintain registers of products received.
- Monitor order value spend and liaise with Commercial/Contracts and Project Management to manage forecasts and budgets.
- Work with receipting/accounts to verify vendor invoices against purchase/contract orders prior to payment.
About You?
The successful applicant will have the following qualifications/ experience and capabilities:
- Minimum Cert IV in Purchasing or related experience.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar procurement role on mining, oil & gas, water or infrastructure projects (pipeline construction experience highly regarded).
- Practical experience using an ERP system (preferably Si Compta or similar).
- High level of English language skills (written and verbal).
- High level of computer literacy, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
- Financial and negotiating skills; comfortable working to budgets and forecasts.
- Effective communication and strong relationship-building skills; able to influence and support multiple stakeholders.
- Positive, resilient and improvement-focused with strong planning and organising skills.
