The expansion of the Industrial Performance Department means we are now looking for a Product Specification Manager in either Visé (Belgium), St. Helens (the UK) or Skofja Loka (Slovenia) and reporting to the Industrial Quality Excellence Director.

As a Product Specification Manager you would lead the way in managing and optimizing product specifications. In this dynamic role, you will oversee the Group Product Specification Process, drive product harmonization and standardization projects, and contribute to innovative product development and quality improvement initiatives.

What you’ll be doing

Responsible of the product specifications

Manage and control the Group Product Specification Process, including implementing routine improvements for strategic specification management

Contribute to other appropriate product development and improvement projects

Support plants in quality improvement, including addressing quality issues such as claims, improvements, and start-up challenges.

Plan, organize, and manage production and laboratory trials in coordination with production plants and central marketing, supporting the development of new products and manufacturing processes.

Manage product harmonization and optimization projects

Operate and maintain the existing product specification database

Develop and implement ideas for cost reduction, quality and compliance improvements, including standardizing product specifications across plants to minimize manufacturing costs while maintaining quality, certification, and customer FFU requirements.

Apply any changes required (gatekeeper) in the specification systems, ensuring that appropriate documented change management processes have been employed.

This position requires travel to collaborate with plant teams and external stakeholders. Expected business travels is 30% of time.

What we’d love for you to have

University Degree in Science or Engineering or equivalence by experience

5 years of industrial experience in an area of product development, standardization, manufacturing environment

Working knowledge of MS Office, Statistical Analysis Software

Problem Solving and Analytical skills

Ability to meet deadlines / adapt changing priorities

Good presentation and reporting skills

Fluent in English

Driving license

Willingness/ability to travel 30%

If you have experience in the following areas – this is an added advantage:

Experience in glass or rock wool manufacturing

Knowledge of construction products and techniques, and the application of insulation products within the building industry would be a plus

Knowledge of an additional language
