Job description

At Viaplay Group, we entertain millions of people every day through our streaming services, radio networks, and TV channels. We believe in the power of content not just as a way of telling stories and touching lives, but also expanding worlds.

We’re looking for the best people to join us on our journey. Right now, we’re searching for an iOS Developer in our Stockholm office – are you ready to hit play on an exciting career change?

The Role

As part of this team, you’ll help shape how millions of users navigate Viaplay across iOS and tvOS. From discovery flows and in-app navigation to polished user journeys, your work will sit close to the core product experience.

You’ll join an autonomous, metrics-driven, cross-functional team with a strong product mindset. The team moves fast, learns by doing, and values people who bring energy, curiosity, and a willingness to challenge the status quo. It’s a team that works hard, has fun, and takes pride in building high-quality experiences together.

You’ll collaborate closely with product managers, designers, backend, web, Android, and big-screen developers to test ideas, learn quickly, and scale what truly resonates with users. Alongside your product team, you’ll also be part of the iOS guild, where developers share knowledge and strengthen the iOS and tvOS platforms across Viaplay.

What you'll do

Build and improve features that shape navigation and discovery in the Viaplay apps

Take ideas from hypothesis to rollout, using data and user insight to guide decisions

Collaborate closely with cross-functional colleagues to create seamless, engaging user journeys

Contribute to high-quality iOS and tvOS development through testing, code reviews, and thoughtful architecture

Share learnings in the iOS guild and help evolve the platform, tools, and ways of working

What we’re looking for

We understand you may feel confident ticking certain boxes more than others and that’s why we always keep an open mind in our recruitment process. But, in order to thrive in this role, we do believe you’ll have at least some experience in the following:

Several years of experience in iOS development

Strong skills in Swift

Experience building user interfaces with UIKit and SwiftUI

Solid understanding of iOS architecture, frameworks, and best practices

Experience with API integrations, networking, and data storage

A quality mindset, including unit testing, code reviews, and maintainable code

Strong self-leadership and the ability to turn ambiguity into something concrete

Interest in exploring AI and how new tools can evolve the craft of software development

It’s a bonus if you have

Experience with experimentation, such as A/B testing, feature flags, or hypothesis-driven development

Experience with Objective-C and tvOS

Familiarity with modern Apple frameworks such as Swift Concurrency or Combine

Experience with CI, GitHub Actions, or Fastlane

What we offer you

We’ve got you covered! 30 days of paid vacation every year, an attractive pension and insurance scheme, and generous parental leave pay lift.

Your wellbeing matters. We provide you with various wellbeing initiatives including wellness allowance.

Flexibility that works. We follow a hybrid model with at least three days a week in the office, giving you the best mix of collaboration and focus time.

A safe space to grow and up-skill. Our learning culture puts you in the driver’s seat of your own development.

An innovative environment with Hack Days once a year. This week-long initiative allows you to think outside the box and deliver creative, technical solutions that (more often than not) go on to be implemented, either in our product or our ways of working.

Entertainment is what we love, and entertainment is what we do. So, unlimited access to Viaplay seems only fair for you to get to know the product – including serier & viewing events, new release movie rentals, linear channels and more.
