Job description

Purpose –

The Project Manager manages Site projects from their inception to the completion of the project. The position is responsible for managing all activities and issues related to the procurement and completion of projects , including estimating support, project planning, scheduling, project cost accounting, quality control, contract administration, safety management, labor and equipment resources and owner relationships. The Project Manager will provide leadership and mentorship to Project Managers in order to support the success of their projects while broadening their individual capabilities and expanding their skillsets.

Duties and Responsibilities –

  • Ensures proper safety protocols and safety training requirements required for each project and promotes the safety culture of the Company
  • Manages to the Core Values of Louisville Paving and Construction
  • Provides Projections while working with the Director of Operations, COO and CCO
  • Plans, directs and coordinates all aspects of the project from inception to completion
  • Ensure estimates/pay applications are complete, well organized, and ready for review by management
  • Ensures completion of the project within the expected timeframe
  • Determines the best sources of construction materials and ensures the timely delivery of materials, tools and equipment in partnership with the Superintendent/Foremen
  • Schedules and estimates the time required to complete the project
  • Oversees the selection of subcontractors who are qualified to support the safe completion of a project
  • Determines effective labor requirements
  • Facilitates acquisition of all necessary licenses and permits
  • Monitors the compliance of the project to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements
  • Coordinates with the Estimator to provide budget based on estimate and value engineering
  • Conducts preconstruction meetings
  • Initiates subcontracts and purchase orders with vendors
  • Coordinates with Superintendents on work with subcontractors to ensure all subcontract work is within project(s) scope and specifications
  • Monitors job costs and provides costs to complete reports for monthly meetings

• Oversees change order justification/documentation/approval

  • Supports monthly invoicing of projects
  • Conducts closeout process of projects

• Establishes project(s) subcontract requirements and reviews these requirements with division management

• Responsible for controlling costs and maintaining profitability for the project

• Continually monitors project(s) to assure company and regulatory procedures are followed.

• Coordinates with engineers, inspectors, and clients/owner representatives to isolate project issues and assists in developing solutions.

• Reviews field construction activity, engineering, and other field project(s) support activities to ensure projects remain on budget/schedule

• Conducts regular project(s) inspections and advises project(s) supervision of work progress and quality of work

Education and Experience –

  • S. Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
