Job description
As a Business Development Executive, you’ll be responsible for developing and growing revenue across your assigned territory— Labuan and/or Miri/Bintulu . You'll manage a portfolio of customers (with flexibility depending on market needs), ensure sales targets and margins are achieved, and collaborate closely with the Commercial Manager on planning, forecasting, and strategic initiatives
Principal Accountabilities
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Growth
- Develop and execute annual sales plans and monthly forecasts.
- Manage and grow sales and margin for the assigned customer portfolio.
- Identify and develop strategies to acquire new customers or deepen market penetration.
- Use sales pipeline data to conduct forecasts and market research.
- Prepare and deliver persuasive presentations, quotations, and tender documents.
- Assess opportunities and risks, and recommend go/no-go strategies.
Customer & Market Engagement
- Be the primary contact for customers in your portfolio.
- Build strong, long-term customer relationships and achieve a high Net Promoter Score (NPS).
- Manage leads and opportunities via CRM systems; analyze win/loss outcomes.
- Perform cold-calling and follow-ups to convert leads into opportunities.
- Conduct periodic portfolio and competitor analysis.
Administration & Coordination
- Contribute to weekly forecasts and sales reporting.
- Coordinate with yard operations to prioritize customer deliveries.
- Support ad-hoc management requests (e.g., market research, reporting, events).
- Work collaboratively with internal teams.
- Travel within the territory as required.
Education & Qualifications
- Business degree preferred.
- Diploma in Logistics or Finance advantageous.
- Relevant qualifications in marketing, communications, or business essential.
Skills & Experience
- Prior experience in sales, business development, or key account management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM platforms.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Confident presenter and effective meeting facilitator.
