Job description
Astroscale France is looking for an experienced AIV/AIT Manager to support the growth of our Toulouse office. As AIV/AIT Manager you will take a leading role in the assembly, integration, verification (inspection & test) and launch of Astroscale France missions.
Main Responsibilities
- Delivery of Spacecraft/Mission level Assembly, Integration, and Verification /Test (AIV /AIT ) activities.
- AIV /AIT test set-up design, development, and commissioning.
- Create and maintain system/ satellite AIV /AIT procedures, plans, workflows, and schedules in accordance with technical and programmatic requirements.
- Contribute to bid related activities, including generation of (and subsequent delivery against) AIV /AIT related cost and schedule budgets.
- Contribute to overall industrial strategy including facilities creation and management
Wider Responsibilities
- Provide experienced AIV /AIT related guidance, t rain ing and mento ring to less experienced engineers .
- Represent AIV /AIT team in internal and external meetings with suppliers and customers .
- Represent AIV /AIT in internal project meetings , management meetings, reviews, and technical discussions .
- Co-ordinate and manage AIV /AIT activities between the Ast r oscale group of c ompanies when the situation arises .
- Maintain costs and budget traceability .

Essential Skills
- Master, MSc or higher education qualifications within mechanical/electrical/science fields.
- 10+ years of experience delivering spacecraft or mission level AIV /AIT activities across a range of mission types.
- Thorough knowledge and experience of spacecraft/mission AIV /AIT process, ideally with an established delivery record across several manufacturers.
- Understanding of spacecraft systems, interfacing and operations
- Deep technical knowledge/understanding of AIV /AIT planning, processes, GSE (mechanical & electrical) development, set-up and operation, and verification activities of Mechanical AIT activities (including subsystem, system, and environmental level testing).
- Proactive and self-managing, whilst contributing collaboratively within a close-knit team.
- Fluent in French and English .
- Be eligible and registered to work within Europe.
- Be eligible and gain security clearance in France.
Desirable skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ideally, experience interacting with international teams.
- Design skills and knowledge for development of test infrastructure (mechanical and/or electrical).
- Experience with test and development of mechanisms, installation of spacecraft MLI and harness
- Well organized, flexible working approach, ability to adapt to change.
- Knowledge of, and interest in, active space debris removal and space debris removal missions.
- Understanding of both traditional and ‘new space’ mission approaches.
- Awareness of ECSS standards in system engineering, testing and verification.
- Experience with scripting languages and automated testing tools.
- Knowledge of planning and execution of environmental test campaigns (including Thermal , Mechanical and EMC verification campaigns)
- Willing to work with innovative technologies.
