Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager – Spill Response to support our emergency response operations. This position is primarily office-based (approximately 70–80%) and involves coordinating emergency response projects, managing field operations, and supporting clients throughout incident response and remediation activities.
The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and be available to respond to emergency incidents outside of regular business hours when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a liaison between General Managers, technical experts, clients, and field teams
- Lead and support Emergency Responders and Environmental Consultants
- Oversee and direct field operations and technical procedures
- Develop project scopes, assign tasks, and manage project teams
- Communicate project updates clearly with clients and regulatory bodies
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and reporting
- Ensure high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency in fieldwork
- Oversee invoicing, revenue tracking, and project documentation
- Participate in a weekly on-call rotation
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Environmental Science, Land Reclamation, Biological Sciences, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in environmental site remediation and reclamation
- Experience working in safety-sensitive environments
- Strong project management and leadership experience
- Knowledge of emergency response practices, regulatory requirements, and stakeholder communication
- Professional designation (or in progress) such as AIA, APEGA, or ASPB is an asset
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience managing budgets and forecasting project needs
