- An experienced OV (current qualification)
- An RCVS-registered vet looking to gain OV certification

Role Overview
As an OV in meat establishments, you will
- Conduct ante- and post-mortem inspections to verify animal welfare and food safety compliance.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with FSA and legal standards .
- Lead and support inspection teams, ensuring consistent delivery of official controls.
- Build productive relationships with Food Business Operators (FBOs) and stakeholders.
Full responsibilities follow the FSA Manual for Official Controls (MOC) , ensuring compliance, safety, and professional leadership at every stage of the meat production process.
Qualifications & Skills
Essential
- Veterinary degree (BSc/MSc) and RCVS registration or eligibility
- English proficiency – IELTS 7.0 or OET grade B
Preferred
- OV-qualified or experience in meat hygiene/animal welfare
- Strong communication, leadership, and attention to detail
- Flexibility and full UK driving licence
