What’s the Role?

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Analyst to join our Insurance IT Operations team. The ideal candidate will understand system integrations, cloud systems, and translate between business users and technical teams . They will possess an analytical mindset, exercise excellent communication skills, and understand business processes, preferably insurance processes. The Business Analyst will report to the Director of IT Operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather, clarify, and document requirements for new functionality, system enhancements, and process changes.
  • Translate requirements into functional documentation, process flows, user stories, decision logic, and testable acceptance criteria in Azure DevOps.
  • Develop training materials, job aids, and process documentation; provide end-user support for new or updated functionality.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by documenting results, validating integrations, and tracking defects through resolution; perform smoke and validation testing during sprints and on release nights.
  • Use tools such as Postman to test and troubleshoot REST APIs — building collections, managing environments, validating payloads, and supporting integration testing with internal and external partners.
  • Contribute to DevOps workflows through backlog refinement, deployment impact reviews, and collaboration with developers to ensure requirements are production-ready.
  • Investigate production issues, document findings, and coordinate with IT, vendors, and stakeholders to drive timely resolution.
  • Support release readiness through impact assessment, regression considerations, and communication of key system or workflow changes.
  • Work with Azure services (Blob and Table Storage) to understand data persistence, retrieval, logging, and auditing across environments; support troubleshooting and documentation of cloud-based solutions.
  • Analyze existing workflows to identify improvements in efficiency, accuracy, controls, and user experience; contribute to data requirements definition.

Qualifications

  • 2–5+ years of Business Analyst, Operations Analyst, or related experience, preferably in insurance or financial services.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to document requirements clearly and communicate effectively across business and technical teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with Azure services, including DevOps, and Postman.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including business users, IT, and external vendors.
  • Experience supporting insurance operations, including underwriting and claims platforms, policy administration systems, workflow tools, or ticketing systems.
