Job Title: People Advisor
Location: Leeds, LS28 5QS
Salary: £35,000 per annum FTE
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent (4 days will be considered)
We’re looking for an experienced People Advisor who genuinely cares about people and wants to make a difference to people and their working lives.

The Role
Through an ethical, people-first and values-driven approach, you will provide approachable, professional and expert HR advice and guidance to managers and employees to achieve positive outcomes that enhance employee satisfaction, retention and organisational success.
Supporting managers and employees
- Providing practical, people-first HR advice across a wide range of people matters.
- Managing employee relations cases (grievance, disciplinary, performance, absence, etc.)
- Coaching managers to build confidence in handling people issues.
- Being a trusted, approachable contact for employee queries.
- Supporting employee wellbeing through wellbeing meetings and action plans
Building a great place to work
- Championing a positive, inclusive and values-led culture.
- Supporting engagement initiatives so people feel connected and valued.
- Using feedback (surveys, exit interviews, ideas) to spot trends and improve experience.
- Getting involved in wellbeing initiatives, CSR activity and internal events.
- Supporting diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.
Learning and development
- Helping deliver learning and development activity across the business.
- Supporting early careers and development programmes.
- Working with managers on development plans and career pathways.
- Coordinating training and keeping things on track.
Projects and continuous improvement
- Contributing to People Team improvements.
- Contribute to projects and initiatives aligned with the People Strategy and team OKRs
- Using data and insights to help shape better ways of working.
- Supporting performance processes e.g. PDPs, appraisals and 121s.
Keeping things running smoothly
- Producing high-quality HR documentation.
- Keeping policies up to date and aligned to legislation and best practice.
- Making the most of our systems (BambooHR, Staff Circle)
- Supporting compliance and general People Team admin.
The Candidate
You’re someone who
- Is approachable, empathetic and genuinely enjoys helping people.

- Brings a positive, can-do attitude.
- Has great attention to detail and high standards.
- Values doing things the right way, fairly, ethically and consistently.
We’re less about ticking every box and more about finding someone who brings the right mindset. That said, you’ll need to have:
- Experience in a busy HR/People role (Advisor or similar level).
- Confidence managing a range of employee relations casework.
- Good knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust at all levels.
- A pragmatic, fair and people-first approach.
- CIPD Level 5 (or working towards it).
- Experience with HR systems
It would be great (but not essential) if you also have
- Experience with BambooHR
- Exposure to L&D activity
- Experience in people data analysis and producing reports
