Heavy Duty Mechanic

Location: Alberta (Central / Northern Projects) Company: Blackline Civil Position Type: Full-Time

About the Role

We’re looking for a skilled and reliable Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team. You’ll be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy equipment and diesel-powered vehicles to ensure safe and efficient operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
  • Perform repairs on heavy-duty equipment (e.g., trucks, loaders, excavators)
  • Conduct routine maintenance and preventative servicing
  • Complete inspections and maintain accurate service records
  • Ensure all work meets safety and regulatory standards
  • Work collaboratively with operators and supervisors

Qualifications & Experience

  • Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic certification (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
  • Experience with brands like CAT, Komatsu, John Deere (preferred)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
  • Valid driver’s license (Class 1 or 3 is an asset)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
