Job description

Product Owner - Onboarding & Platform

Location: Norwich

Epos Now powers over 100,000 businesses globally through integrated POS, payments and commerce solutions.

We're looking for a Product Owner to take ownership of one of the most important parts of the customer journey: onboarding. From account creation and identity verification through to system configuration and activation, you'll help shape how merchants get up and running and realise value from day one.

This role sits at the intersection of product, engineering, design, payments and operations. You'll use customer insight, behavioural data and commercial thinking to identify friction points, prioritise improvements and deliver experiences that help merchants start trading faster.

What You'll Do

Own the Onboarding Journey

  • Define and evolve the end-to-end onboarding experience
  • Improve activation, setup and conversion across onboarding flows
  • Balance customer experience, compliance requirements and business objectives
  • Champion the voice of the customer throughout the product lifecycle

Drive Product Discovery

  • Identify customer problems through research and data analysis
  • Conduct customer interviews and gather feedback from support and operational teams
  • Analyse behavioural funnels and user journeys to uncover opportunities
  • Validate solutions before development begins

Lead Product Delivery

  • Define product requirements, success metrics and priorities
  • Partner closely with engineering and design teams
  • Manage the product backlog and roadmap for onboarding initiatives
  • Align stakeholders and ensure successful delivery of product improvements

Use Data to Guide Decisions

  • Track key onboarding and activation metrics
  • Monitor customer behaviour and conversion performance
  • Build visibility around onboarding KPIs and business impact
  • Use insight to prioritise future investment

Improve and Innovate

  • Introduce best practices in onboarding, activation and customer experience
  • Explore opportunities to automate and optimise journeys through AI and intelligent workflows
  • Continuously improve experiences across payments, identity verification, hardware setup and platform configuration

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • 3+ years' experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager or similar role
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience working in agile product environments
  • Ability to turn customer insight and data into clear product decisions

Desirable

  • Experience owning onboarding, activation or customer lifecycle products
  • Exposure to payments, FinTech, SaaS or commerce platforms
  • Experience working with identity verification, compliance or KYC processes

Skills & Experience

  • Product analytics tools such as Mixpanel, Amplitude, GA4 or similar
  • Ability to work with data and perform basic to intermediate SQL analysis
  • Experience with BI tools such as Looker, Power BI or Tableau
  • Strong understanding of UX principles and customer journey mapping
  • Familiarity with APIs, integrations and platform products
  • Experience writing PRDs, user stories and success metrics
  • Comfortable prioritising work using frameworks such as RICE or MoSCoW
