Job description

Urgent Care / Emergency Veterinarian — Up to $300K (Cash + Equity Sign-On)

Pearland, TX — Daytime ER Model — No Overnight Shifts

This is not a typical veterinary position. This opportunity offers both strong immediate compensation and a direct financial stake in a practice positioned for corporate acquisition.

We are building a high-performance daytime emergency hospital in one of the fastest-growing suburbs of Houston. The practice has been independently valued at approximately $3M and is actively preparing for sale. Veterinarians who contribute to this growth will share directly in the financial upside.

This is an ownership-track opportunity designed for veterinarians who want to practice high-quality emergency medicine while building long-term wealth.

Compensation & Financial Opportunity

  • Base Salary: $150,000
  • Production Earnings: Up to $250,000+ annually
  • Cash at Practice Sale: Up to $100,000
  • Equity at Practice Sale: Up to $200,000
  • Estimated 5-Year Equity Growth: $500,000 – $800,000+

Potential total 5-year earnings: $1.2M – $1.5M+

Note: Cash and equity components are contingent on achieving financial targets and completing a practice sale.

What Makes This Opportunity Different

  • True emergency and urgent care medicine during daytime hours (no overnight shifts)
  • High-acuity caseload with surgical volume
  • All presenting patients are seen — no diversion or case selection
  • Direct equity participation in a practice preparing for acquisition
  • Clear link between performance and financial upside
  • Predictable rotating 4/3 schedule with shared weekend coverage

Key Responsibilities

  • See all patients presenting during your shift (no exceptions without leadership approval)
  • Triage, stabilize, diagnose, and treat patients
  • Perform urgent and emergency soft tissue surgeries
  • Refer cases only after appropriate in-hospital workup
  • Maintain accurate and thorough medical records
  • Communicate effectively with clients in high-stress situations
  • Collaborate with team members and follow established workflows

Surgical Requirements

  • Soft tissue surgery
  • Emergency abdominal procedures (foreign bodies, GDV stabilization, splenic cases)
  • Pyometra surgery
  • Wound repair and laceration management

Mentorship is available, but candidates must be willing to perform surgery.

Professional Corporation Requirement

In accordance with Texas law, veterinary practices must operate under a Professional Corporation (PC) owned by a licensed veterinarian. The selected candidate will be required to hold the PC in their name.

Full legal and administrative support will be provided.

Ideal Candidate

  • DVM or equivalent veterinary degree
  • Licensed (or eligible for licensure) in Texas
  • Willing to hold the Professional Corporation (PC)
  • Experience in emergency, urgent care, or high-volume general practice
  • Strong surgical confidence
  • Ability to make independent clinical decisions
  • Motivated by both clinical excellence and financial growth

Schedule

  • Full-time rotating schedule: 4 shifts one week, 3 shifts the following week
  • Daytime hours only (no overnight shifts)
  • Shared weekend coverage

The Bottom Line

  • Earn $150K+ from day one
  • Up to $100K cash payout at practice sale
  • Equity growth potential of $500K–$800K+
  • Total potential earnings of $1.2M–$1.5M+ over 5 years
