Markandey Health Care Private Limited (MHCPL) is an upcoming multi-speciality hospital at Vengurla Road, Sulga, Belgaum – 591108, Karnataka. Our radiology department is equipped with AERB-approved fixed radiography equipment and we are seeking a qualified and experienced X-Ray Technician to deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients. The X-Ray Technician will be a key member of the radiology team, responsible for performing a variety of radiographic procedures, maintaining equipment, ensuring radiation safety, and supporting the diagnostic process in close coordination with physicians and radiologists. Key Responsibilities : Perform diagnostic X-ray imaging procedures for various body parts including chest, abdomen, spine, extremities, and skull as requested by treating physicians. Prepare patients for X-ray procedures — explain the process, address patient concerns, ensure proper positioning, and use shielding equipment appropriately. Accurately position patients and X-ray equipment to obtain optimal diagnostic images for the specific clinical requirement. Operate both fixed and portable X-ray equipment safely and efficientlyEnsure strict compliance with AERB radiation safety guidelines including use of lead aprons, thyroid shields, and gonad shields for patients and staff. Perform routine quality control checks on X-ray equipment and image quality; report and escalate technical faults promptlyMaintain accurate records of all procedures, patient exposure details, and equipment usage logsCoordinate with radiologists for image interpretation and report preparation. Manage digital image storage, filing, and retrieval through the PACS system or hospital imaging system. Monitor and manage inventory of X-ray consumables, films (if applicable), and accessories. Ensure the radiology room and equipment are maintained in a clean, safe, and organized condition at all times. Participate in radiation safety audits and AERB compliance activities. Handle emergency and bedside X-ray requests promptly and efficiently. Maintain complete patient confidentiality at all times. Requirements B.Sc in Radiology / Medical Imaging Technology or DMRIT from a recognized institution Valid AERB radiation worker registration / radiation safety certificate (mandatory). Minimum 1–2 years of experience in operating X-ray equipment in a hospital or diagnostic center. Hands-on experience with both fixed radiography units and portable X-ray machines. Sound knowledge of radiation safety protocols, AERB compliance requirements, and radiation protection practices. Familiarity with digital X-ray systems and PACS preferred. Ability to handle patients of all age groups, including children and elderly with patience and care. Good communication skills in Kannada, Hindi, and/or English. Ability to work in shifts and respond to emergency imaging requests. Physically fit to assist with patient positioning and equipment handling.
