POS Desk Sales Engineer

PayBright is a rapidly growing merchant services company serving businesses nationwide. We operate in a fast-moving, highly regulated environment where execution matters. We are hiring a POS Desk Sales Engineer to drive revenue and close deals within our growing POS Desk function. This is a high-impact sales role for someone with strong commercial instincts and a bias toward winning - you will partner with agents to aggressively move qualified opportunities from discovery to signed agreement. You will combine solution selling, product expertise, and deal ownership to position the right solutions, overcome objections, and close business while ensuring deals are structured for long-term success. Duties/Responsibilities: Serve as the primary sales driver for agent-sourced POS deals, owning progression from qualified lead through close Lead merchant discovery conversations to uncover needs, position solutions, and advance deals toward commitment Deliver persuasive, sales-focused demos across POS platforms, tailored to drive buying decisions Build and present compelling pricing proposals designed to win business while aligning with company margins Act as the closer on POS opportunities, partnering with agents to secure signed agreements and finalize deals Coach agents on prospecting, qualification, objection handling, and closing techniques to increase win rates Proactively identify and remove deal blockers, using internal tools and creative structuring to accelerate sales cycles Develop deep expertise in PayBright’s products, pricing, and financing programs to effectively sell and differentiate offerings Collaborate with the POS Desk and cross-functional teams to drive revenue growth and improve sales execution Track and manage sales pipeline activity, conversion rates, and revenue performance against targets Requirements Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Strong consultative selling and relationship-building skills Ability to tailor demos and solutions to a variety of business types and merchant needs Ability to manage a fast-paced pipeline with multiple active deals Comfortable working independently and cross-functionally Technical aptitude with POS systems and sales tools Coaching mindset and willingness to support agent development Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree 5+ years of experience in POS, payments, or SaaS sales Experience with agent or dealer sales channels preferred Knowledge of common POS platforms (e.g., Clover, Figure, Octopos, etc.) preferred Schedule & Location Full-time Monday–Friday, with occasional weekend hours as needed Hybrid schedule (on-site in Raleigh, NC four days per week) Benefits Medical insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Paid time off Paid holidays 401(k) retirement plan with company match Company Culture At PayBright, we pride ourselves on honesty, tenacity, and reliability—values that guide everything we do.
