Data Analyst Intern

Summary: The Data Analytics Intern will play a key role within the Business Intelligence & Data Analytics team by supporting the transformation of raw data into actionable insights that inform strategic business decisions. This position offers hands-on experience across data analysis, ETL processes, database management, and emerging AI/ML initiatives, contributing to the organization’s data-driven culture. The intern will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality reports, maintain data integrity, and support innovation through automation and advanced analytics. Responsibilities: Assist in collecting, cleaning, validating, and analyzing data from diverse business systems and databases. Support the design, development, and maintenance of interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI, Bold BI, or similar BI tools. Generate regular performance reports and business summaries to track key metrics and KPIs. Identify trends, anomalies, and growth opportunities within business data to support decision-making. Respond to ad-hoc analytical requests from business and product stakeholders. Aid in building and monitoring ETL workflows to ensure accurate and timely data movement across systems. Contribute to data integration efforts across databases, applications, and cloud platforms. Participate in maintaining data pipelines and ensuring data quality and consistency. Support the development and optimization of data warehouses and data marts. Gain experience with data orchestration tools such as Airflow, Azure Data Factory, or SSIS. Write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis. Assist in the upkeep of relational databases and data warehouse environments. Support data validation, reconciliation, and audit activities. Help document database schemas, data definitions, and business rules. Prepare data for machine learning projects, including data cleaning and feature engineering. Contribute to exploratory data analysis and assist in testing predictive models under guidance. Support AI-driven initiatives such as forecasting, anomaly detection, recommendation engines, and generative AI applications. Apply foundational Python skills to data science and machine learning workflows. Document analytical methodologies, data sources, business logic, and project outcomes. Maintain up-to-date project documentation and contribute to the team’s knowledge base. Assist in creating user-friendly guides and technical documentation for reports and dashboards. Collaborate with Data Analysts, BI Developers, Data Engineers, and Data Scientists on assigned projects. Engage in team meetings, training sessions, and knowledge-sharing forums. Present findings and progress updates to team members as needed. Continuously expand technical expertise and deepen understanding of business domains. Support data automation and transformation initiatives aligned with team goals. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
