We are looking for an Intermediate Interior Designer who is ready to take the lead on their own projects. This is the role for a designer who has a few years under their belt, knows how to carry a project through every phase, and is excited to own that work day to day. You will run your projects with confidence while a senior designer sets the overall creative direction and is there for the big calls, so you get real responsibility with strong support behind you. If you love seeing a project through from concept to install and taking pride in the details along the way, you will feel right at home here. What you will be doing Owning your assigned projects day to day, carrying them through each phase from concept to final install under the creative direction of a senior designer Developing complete design presentations on your own, including concept boards, FF&E selections, and materials palettes Producing accurate, well-coordinated AutoCAD drawings, including floor plans, elevations, and reflected ceiling plans Designing and detailing interior architecture and custom millwork for your projects, including built-ins, paneling, kitchens, vanities, stair details, and integrated lighting, and coordinating those details with architects, engineers, and fabricators Leading site surveys, documenting existing conditions, and coordinating installations from start to finish Specifying and sourcing furniture, finishes, and fixtures, and managing vendor relationships, pricing, and lead times for your projects Coordinating directly with vendors, contractors, and consultants to keep your projects on schedule and on budget Managing project timelines and budgets at the project level, with senior designers and project managers there for guidance and sign-off Being a steady resource for our junior designers, sharing what you know and helping review their work Handling day-to-day client communication for your projects with professionalism and warmth Requirements A bachelor's degree in Interior Design or a related field 3 to 5 years of interior design experience, ideally with high-end residential or commercial projects The ability to run projects independently and keep several moving at once without losing the details Strong skills in Studio Designer, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Google Workspace Comfort with SketchUp and 3D rendering tools (a real plus) A keen eye for detail, scale, and proportion Excellent communication, organization, and time management A positive, can-do attitude and the kind of curiosity that keeps you growing Comfort using AI tools to speed up research, sourcing, and documentation, while keeping your design eye firmly in the lead A portfolio that shows off your work (please upload it with your cover letter) Benefits A competitive salary in the $80,000 to $100,000 range, commensurate with experience Health insurance Paid vacation, holidays, and sick leave Hands-on ownership of elite residential and commercial projects across NYC and beyond Mentorship from senior designers and a clear path to grow toward a senior role A collaborative, design-driven culture you will actually look forward to
