Job description
Role Overview: We are seeking a highly organized and results-driven Supply Chain Manager to oversee all import and export operations across Koolboks’ international markets. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring timely delivery of goods, optimizing logistics costs, managing customs and compliance, and leading initiatives to improve operational efficiency across the supply chain. Key Responsibilities: ∙Global Logistics Oversight: Manage all international shipments (air, sea, and land), ensuring on-time delivery of goods to distribution partners in over 25 countries. ∙Import/Export Compliance: Ensure full compliance with international trade regulations, customs documentation, HS codes, and country-specific import/export requirements. ∙Vendor & Freight Forwarder Management: Liaise with freight forwarders, customs agents, and third-party logistics providers to optimize lead times, costs, and service quality. ∙Policy & Process Leadership: Develop and enforce supply chain policies and SOPs that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and safety across the logistics network. ∙Cost Optimization & Consolidation: Identify and implement strategies to consolidate warehousing and shipments, reduce transportation costs, and negotiate competitive freight rates. ∙Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate closely with Sales, Operations, and Manufacturing teams to forecast demand, manage inventory flow, and align logistics with business priorities. ∙Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Track key KPIs including delivery timelines, shipping costs, damage/loss rates, and customs clearance times. Present insights and action plans to leadership. ∙Process Improvement & Innovation: Lead supply chain transformation projects—such as digital tracking, barcoding, or new route optimization—to improve operational agility and visibility. Requirements Qualifications: ∙Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus). ∙5+ years of experience in international logistics and supply chain management, preferably in Africa-focused distribution. ∙Strong knowledge of import/export regulations, Incoterms, and customs procedures. ∙Experience managing relationships with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and logistics providers. ∙Proficiency in ERP systems, Excel, and logistics tracking tools. ∙Excellent negotiation, communication, and project management skills. ∙Fluency in English; French is an added advantage.
