Job Summary We are seeking a Senior PostgreSQL Database Administrator to manage, optimize, and support PostgreSQL databases deployed across distributed and edge-node environments. The role requires strong hands-on expertise in PostgreSQL operations, replication, performance tuning, and high availability in production systems. Key Responsibilities Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain PostgreSQL databases across multiple environments Manage PostgreSQL databases deployed at edge nodes and central systems Design and maintain replication, synchronization, and data consistency mechanisms Monitor and tune database performance, queries, and indexes Implement and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies Ensure database security, access controls, and compliance best practices Automate routine DBA tasks using scripting and tooling Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis Collaborate with application and platform teams on schema and query design Required Skills & Experience 7+ years of DBA experience with 4+ years on PostgreSQL in production Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL internals, MVCC, WAL, vacuuming, and indexing Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL replication and high availability setups Proven expertise in performance tuning and query optimization Experience with backup and recovery tools (pg_dump, pg_restore, pg_basebackup) Proficiency in scripting (Shell, Python, or equivalent) Experience supporting distributed or multi-node database deployments Nice to Have Experience with edge computing or geographically distributed systems Exposure to cloud or containerized PostgreSQL deployments Prior experience migrating from SQL Server or other RDBMS to PostgreSQL
