Job description
- Security Governance & Strategic Oversight (Marginal Field Operations) •Provide overall security leadership for all marginal field and upstream operations, ensuring the protection of personnel, assets, and production facilities. •Work closely with management to develop, implement, and control security budgets, plans, and deployment strategies suitable for high-risk operational environments. •Establish and maintain a robust security architecture aligned with marginal field operational realities and evolving threat landscapes. 2. Operational Security & Risk Management •Oversee daily security operations across field locations, flow stations, and support facilities, with particular focus on remote and high-risk marginal fields. •Conduct continuous threat assessments and security risk analyses, identifying vulnerabilities and implementing effective mitigation and response plans. •Ensure effective deployment and supervision of security personnel, including guard force management, patrol coordination, and access control. 3. Incident, Crisis & Emergency Response Management •Lead crisis management, emergency response coordination, and security incident handling across all operational areas. •Ensure all security incidents, breaches, and allegations are thoroughly investigated, documented, and reported in line with company and regulatory requirements. •Coordinate emergency preparedness drills, response simulations, and journey management protocols for field personnel. 4. Stakeholder, Community & Government Agency Engagement •Maintain strong working relationships with the Nigerian Police, Military, DSS, Task Force, Fire Service, and other relevant security and regulatory agencies. •Support stakeholder and community-related security engagements to minimize operational disruptions in host communities. •Act as the primary security liaison between the company, government agencies, and external security partners. 5. Audits, Reporting & Compliance •Conduct routine and ad-hoc security audits covering physical security, personnel safety, asset protection, and operational integrity. •Prepare and submit daily, monthly, and quarterly security reports, intelligence briefs, and management updates. •Ensure full compliance with statutory security requirements, industry best practices, and company policies. 6. Security Culture & Continuous Improvement •Foster a strong security and safety culture across all marginal field locations through awareness, training, and leadership engagement. •Continuously review and enhance security procedures to address emerging risks, operational changes, and technological advancements. Requirements University degree in a relevant field. •Prior credible security experience, including military patrols or service in security/intelligence agencies (e.g., ex-military, ex-DSS). •Experience working in marginal fields, particularly in BIOS applications or related environments. •Strong understanding of modern security technologies and risk management practices. •Demonstrated ability to develop and implement comprehensive security frameworks and manage high-risk operations. Experience At least 12 years of post-NYSC cognate experience in a similar security management role.
