Backend Developer Lead

About the Role: We are seeking a highly experienced Backend Engineering Lead (Python) to drive the technical vision, architecture, and innovation strategy of our backend systems. This role combines deep hands-on engineering expertise with strong leadership capability. You will take architectural ownership of backend platforms built primarily in Python, ensuring scalability, security, performance, and long-term maintainability. As a technical leader, you will guide a team of backend engineers, oversee code quality and best practices, and support performance management and career development. You will collaborate closely with Frontend, DevOps, and Data Engineering teams to deliver robust, cloud-ready microservices and APIs that power mission-critical applications. The role also requires active participation in architectural decision-making, system design reviews, and continuous improvement of engineering standards. The ideal candidate is both a strategic thinker and a hands-on problem solver who thrives in complex, high-scale environments and takes full ownership of backend platform excellence. Roles & Responsibilities: Take technical leadership, architectural ownership, and drive the innovation strategy for backend systems built primarily in Python. Lead a team of backend engineers, conduct performance reviews, and support career growth planning. Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs. Build scalable, secure, and high-performance microservices. Integrate with databases, cloud services, and third-party platforms. Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, and data engineering teams to ensure seamless system integration. Implement authentication, authorization, and data protection mechanisms. Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following industry best practices. Monitor, debug, and resolve production issues to maintain system reliability. Participate in architectural discussions and conduct code reviews to uphold technical excellence.
