Job description

About Sav: Sav is a Series A-stage company, founded by experienced operators with backgrounds across global banking, payments, and financial infrastructure. The company is backed by institutional investors and strategic partners, supporting its build-out at the intersection of open finance, AI, and regulated financial products. Operating across the GCC with a growing global footprint, Sav is building an autonomous finance platform that unifies how consumers spend, save, invest, and manage credit. The company has been recognized among the UAE Future 100, Deloitte Fast 50, and as a Top 10 AI startup in MENA by Google for Startups. We operate across three core layers - data, intelligence, and products — to create a seamless financial system. Our data layer aggregates real-time financial information across institutions using open finance frameworks. Our intelligence layer applies AI to identify opportunities, automate decisions, and optimize financial outcomes. Our product layer embeds regulated financial offerings directly into the consumer journey. This integrated stack creates a 360° platform to continuously launch and scale new financial products across markets. You will operate across this full stack - translating data into intelligence, and intelligence into live, scalable, revenue generation products. The Role: This is a high-ownership, hands-on role where you will be responsible for all legal, compliance, and data privacy matters. This is a complex role requiring sound experience in DIFC and UAE regulations, contract law, technology and software licenses, and negotiation of large and complex deals. Job Description: Negotiate, draft, and review various contracts including customers, subcontractors, suppliers, service providers, inter-company, consulting, and software licensing. Drafting and amending customer and partner facing documentation, including terms and conditions, product disclosure, policy, regulatory disclosures and growth promotions. Provide legal analysis and comprehensive risk assessment to manage and mitigate risks. Draft, organize, and review integral corporate documents and materials required for audits, due diligence, and other corporate activities. Monitor and ensure the company’s compliance with data protection laws, advise on data processing activities, and act as a point of contact for regulatory authorities and individuals. Create and update contract templates and enhance contracting procedures. Provide advice and support to other departments in meeting obligations associated with contracts and agreements. Take lead on variations in regulatory licenses or new license applications with local and international regulators to expand across geographies and product lines. Identify and consult on legal risks and compliance issues in connection with the structuring, development, marketing, and promotion of new products. Assist on the onboarding and offboarding of team members across multiple jurisdictions. Maintain statutory registers, file legal documents, and coordinate board and shareholder meetings. Assisting with board and board committee management, including preparing agendas, action lists and minutes of meetings and promoting good corporate governance. Manage key business partnerships and lead client discussions. Work proactively with regulators, partners, investors and internal stakeholders to facilitate decision making and completing necessary submissions. Ensure the company complies with applicable anti-money laundering regulations through advising on systemic processes and frameworks, investigating suspicious activity, monitoring transactions, managing the reporting process, assisting with policy updates, and providing staff training to detect and prevent financial crime. Requirements Experience and qualifications: Minimum of a law degree from a reputable university. Fluent in English. Arabic communication is a plus. 2-5 years of work experience post qualification. Strong experience of contract analysis, review and drafting. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal matters to non-legal stakeholders clearly. Comfortable handling shifting priorities and working in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Benefits Why join Sav? Be part of a mission-driven fintech scaling across the GCC. Work alongside a passionate and visionary leadership team. A flat, fast-paced, no-drama culture with high ownership and high trust Work alongside a globally distributed team of experienced builders
