Since our founding in 2004, we have delivered programs that support the unique needs of girls and young women from kindergarten to career. All programs are developmentally appropriate, supporting girls’ changing needs as they grow. Ensuring that all program delivery in alignment with Social Determinants of Health through a trauma informed care lens as defined by the agency. We empower girls by equipping them to navigate gender, economic, and racial barriers and grow into healthy, educated, and independent adults. From behavioral health and wellness support in elementary and secondary school and exciting hands-on STEM and STEAM projects in middle school to building leadership skills and college readiness skills in high school, Girls Inc. girls receive the support and the opportunities they need to thrive. Girls Inc. of San Antonio’s operating budget is $2M with 20+ staff located in the GISA Harvey E. Najam Campus and in more than 45 schools and partner organizations across Bexar County. JOB SUMMARY The Data Management Intern will support summer program operations by ensuring accurate data collection, entry, and management across multiple systems. This role is responsible for maintaining attendance records, inputting participant survey data, donor data, and assisting with data cleaning and quality assurance efforts. The intern will utilize Excel to organize and analyze datasets, helping to identify trends and summarize key insights to support program evaluation and decision-making. Additionally, they will assist with donor database maintenance and collaborate with program staff to ensure data accuracy and alignment with program outcomes. This position requires strong attention to detail, a commitment to data integrity and confidentiality, and the ability to support both administrative and data-related tasks in a fast-paced environment. The Intern supports a culture of data excellence across the organization, supporting consistent data collection, systems, and processes. This role requires high-level cross-departmental collaboration and a passion for continuous learning and improvement. #relationshipsarethework ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES · Support daily summer program operations by ensuring accurate participant check-in and attendance tracking. · Enter and maintain attendance records in the program database (Compass360) with a high level of accuracy and timeliness. · Input and organize participant survey data into digital databases for reporting and analysis. · Assist with data cleaning and quality assurance projects, including identifying duplicates, correcting errors, and standardizing records. · Support maintenance and updates within the donor database (Bloomerang), including data entry and record verification. · Utilize Microsoft Excel to clean and organize datasets as well as perform basic analysis. · Assist in analyzing summer survey data, identifying trends, and summarizing key insights for program staff. · Maintain confidentiality and data integrity when handling participant and donor information. · Collaborate with program and administrative staff to ensure data aligns with program activities and outcomes. · Provide general administrative and data-related support as needed REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE · Strong attention to detail and organizational skills · Proficiency in the use of computers for: word processing, databases, spreadsheets, e-mail, internet. · Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, sorting/filtering, basic data analysis) · Interest or experience in data analysis, program evaluation, or nonprofit work · Comfortable with CRM databases (experience with Bloomerang or Compass360 is a plus, but not required) · Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment · Strong ability to be flexible and adapt easily to change. · Proven ability to set priorities and work with minimal supervision. · Ability to seek supervision and feedback and use it constructively. ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS · Understanding of frameworks such as the Developmental Relationships Framework is a plus · Bilingual ability in English and Spanish preferred · A willingness to follow the philosophy of Girls Inc. and operate as a team player. · Must have skills in relationship building; be sensitive to cultural differences; have enhanced competencies when working with families, volunteers, and staff from various backgrounds. · Participate in required training including but not limited to Child Abuse Prevention and Reporting and Emergency Preparedness and Environmental Safety. · Must have reliable transportation, maintain current and valid driver’s license, and provide proof of automotive liability insurance · Must be able to pass drug screening, criminal and driving background check SUPPORT THE GIRLS INC. TIMES WORK WILL BE PERFORMED This is a full-time position with the hours of (7:30 am-4:30pm) but can adjust for the right candidate. · Assigned work hours may change as the needs of the agency change. · Prior approval from supervisor is required for all Paid Time Off (PTO) and overtime. · Physical on-site presence, including regular attendance and punctuality, is an essential function of this position.
