The Sexual Health Centre is seeking to recruit an experienced positive individual to join our Sexual Health Promotion team as an LGBTQ I+ Sexual Health and Public Sex Environment (PSE) Support Worker. This unique and highly specialised role will respond to the sexual health needs of the LGBTQI+ community, with a particular emphasis on Men who have Sex with Men (MSM) and come from a migrant background. The programme will link these individuals to prevention, testing, early diagnosis and treatment opportunities. We recognise that furnishing individuals with the skills to effectively respond to their sexual health is crucial to their overall wellbeing. As this role has a migrant focus the ideal candidate will be fluent in English and at least one other language. The purpose of this position is to support equitable and innovative access to sexual health services for the target population. Essentail Requirements: A relevant qualification in health promotion, health care, social care, or other relevant area Fluent in English and another commonly spoken language in Ireland. Excellent communication and project development skills, with the ability to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders Excellent IT skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suitable experience in developing, evaluating and managing projects 2 years Support Work experience, part of which must be gained through supporting LGBTQI+ Communities including gbMSM. Experience in the area Rapid Testing An in depth understanding of the health and social issues that affect the LGBTI+ community Experience in working and engaging with hard to reach communities An understanding of the unique challenges facing migrants and ethnic minority communities accessing healthcare is essential. An ability to work with people from a wide range of backgrounds in a variety of settings The ability to work as part of a team and in partnership with other organisations and individuals Flexible working style and the ability to respond effectively to emerging/unexpected needs Innovative thinking and project planning is essential
