TEAM LEADER FOR COMPOSITE DEPARTMENT
WORK LOCATION
Employment is based in Faaborg, Denmark.
THE COMPANY
Tuco Production ApS is a specialized manufacturing company based in Faaborg, developing and producing high-speed, advanced composite vessels. The customer segments include workboats, offshore, and defense.
The company primarily serves professional operators in the maritime sector and manufactures lightweight, high-performance workboats and specialized vessels (ProZero). Production is characterized by high quality, precision, and strong expertise in vacuum infusion and modern composite processes.
Tuco Production ApS is part of Tuco Marine Group and operates at the intersection of craftsmanship, technology, and innovation. The company culture is informal with short decision-making processes, where collaboration, responsibility, and professional pride are key values. The company is growing and is actively strengthening its position as a leading player in composite-based solutions for the maritime industry.
The company has its own design department and production facilities and currently employs 41 people, including engineers, boat builders, technicians, administration, sales, and production staff. Customers are both Danish and international.
The GRP department consists of approximately 12 employees and is a central part of the company’s ability to deliver high-quality solutions. A Team Leader is sought to manage the GRP department.
THE POSITION
The Team Leader reports to the Head of Production, Alexander List Feirup.
THE ROLE
At Tuco Production, boats are built to a high standard of quality. Customers include the defense sector, police, and emergency services.
As Team Leader in the GRP department, you will be hands-on and closely involved in production. You are able to balance close technical support for employees with maintaining an overview of construction projects. You ensure quality in all deliverables.
With responsibility for glass fiber/carbon fiber composites using vacuum infusion/molding, a strong understanding of materials and curiosity about physical processes is essential. You may not be an expert in all areas, but you are quick to learn and motivating.
Your primary responsibilities also include
- Planning and coordinating daily work in the department
- Actively working with quality assurance and continuous process optimization
- Managing resources, procurement, time tracking, and schedules for ongoing projects
- Conducting daily board meetings, construction meetings, and project meetings
- Leading and developing a team of skilled production employees and apprentices
- Close collaboration with your manager, the design department, and project managers
THE CANDIDATE
You are passionate about operations and being an active part of them—close to both employees and the technical work. In a smaller organization, cross-functional collaboration is essential, and you excel in this as a Team Leader.
You will be part of a growing company, which requires a flexible and adaptable production setup. You will play a key role in this.
Your profile includes
- Experience with glass fiber/carbon fiber composites using vacuum infusion/molding
- Relevant technical background – or strong potential and motivation to grow into the role
- A hands-on approach to tasks
- Ability and desire to take responsibility and lead production
- Ambition and the ability to plan, coordinate, listen, and make decisions
- A positive and approachable attitude toward colleagues
The company is closely linked to the maritime sector, and experience or interest in the industry is an advantage.
Ideally, you can independently engage in technical and detailed discussions about composite applications and production methods with customers, classification societies, and approval authorities, as well as instruct employees.
EDUCATION
There are multiple pathways into this role. Ideally, you have a relevant vocational/technical background.
