Job description
At LiquidStack, we’re redefining what’s possible in the data center world. As a global leader in advanced liquid cooling solutions, we’re powering the future of AI, edge computing, and high-performance systems. Our team is growing, and we’re looking for skilled professionals who want to be part of something innovative and impactful.
LiquidStack, a global leader in sustainable liquid cooling solutions for data centers and high-performance computing, is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to lead and scale warehouse operations during a period of rapid growth.
Reporting to the Sr. Supply Chain Manager, this is a hands-on, builder role for a leader who is comfortable operating in an environment where processes still need to be created and matured. The successful candidate will own day-to-day warehouse execution, receiving, inventory control, and shipping, while standing up the systems, procedures, and team capability required to scale. A deep, execution-level command of ERP/WMS tools is essential, as is the ability to develop and grow direct reports into a high-performing team.
Key Focus Areas
• Operational Execution — run daily warehouse functions (receiving, put away, inventory control, shipping) with accuracy, urgency, and accountability.
• Production Support — keep production supplied with on-time parts, manage the final shipping schedule, and ensure finished products are staged and ready to ship.
• Process Development — design, document, and continuously improve warehouse SOPs and material-flow processes where many do not yet exist.
• People Development — supervise, coach, and grow direct reports; build a capable, cross-trained team that can scale with the business.
• Systems & Data — drive disciplined, accurate use of ERP/WMS systems as the backbone of inventory integrity and operational reporting.
ERP / WMS Systems & Inventory Control
• Serve as the warehouse subject-matter expert for the company ERP/WMS system (Odoo), ensuring transactions are executed accurately and in real time.
• Own inventory accuracy, traceability, and cycle-count programs; conduct regular physical counts and reconcile discrepancies through root-cause analysis.
• Oversee accurate receiving, stocking, and dispatching across raw materials, WIP, components, and finished goods; manage WIP and sub-assembly flow, including kitting and staging to keep the line supplied.
• Partner with the Sr. Supply Chain Manager and Purchasing to maintain appropriate stock levels and prevent production delays.
• Ensure accurate physical-to-digital tracking of serial numbers, quality-verification records, and engineering change notices; manage return-to-vendor (RTV) claims for damaged or rework material with Purchasing and Quality.
Receiving & Shipping Procedures
• Establish and enforce standardized receiving procedures, verification against POs, inspection, documentation, and timely system receipt.
• Own the receiving-inspection process for incoming material; quarantine and tag nonconforming material and coordinate with Quality on holds, NCRs, and disposition.
• Lead inbound and outbound logistics, ensuring shipments and deliveries are accurate, documented, and dispatched on time per domestic and international regulations.
• Manage freight coordination, shipping documentation, and import/export compliance; ensure proper packaging, labeling, and handling to protect product integrity and meet customer requirements.
• Maintain an adequate supply of packaging and shipping materials (pallets, totes, crating, and related supplies) aligned to the production and shipping plan.
• Measure KPIs — inventory accuracy, on-time shipping, receiving throughput, and report operational metrics to the Sr. Supply Chain Manager.
Production Support & Order Fulfillment
• Support production with on-time delivery of parts and materials to the floor, preventing line stoppages and delays.
• Prepare and manage the final shipping schedule, coordinating with production and the Sr. Supply Chain Manager to meet commitments.
• Ensure proper staging and shipment readiness of final products (sequencing, kitting, verification), including safe loading and freight transport of large, multi-ton finished cooling units.
• Coordinate handling of bulky, heavy components (compressors, coils, heat-exchange assemblies) alongside delicate electronics (PCBs, control boards), using appropriate methods to protect each.
Process Creation & Continuous Improvement
• Create, document, and implement SOPs for warehouse processes in a scaling, build-from-the-ground-up environment.
• Apply lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous-improvement methods to improve efficiency, safety, and quality.
Team Management & Development of Direct Reports
• Delegate daily tasks, manage shift schedules, and coordinate workload to meet operational goals.
• Supervise, coach, and schedule a growing team of material handlers, forklift drivers, and clerks.
• Manage labor tracking, approve digital timecards, and lead daily shift-huddle safety and production briefings.
• Forecast staffing needs and plan labor against production and shipping demand to balance throughput and cost.
• Directly supervise, train, and develop team members; set clear expectations, build development plans, and cross-train staff for depth and flexibility as the team grows.
Safety & Compliance
• Enforce strict PPE use and hazard guidelines; audit material-handling equipment daily (forklifts, reach trucks, tuggers) and remove unsafe equipment from service.
Investigate incidents and near-misses, complete compliance documentation, and correct hazards
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education
• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or logistics preferred. An Associate's degree or relevant certification (e.g., APICS/CPIM or Lean) is a plus.
Experience
• 5+ years of warehouse and logistics experience (manufacturing-warehouse highly preferred), including 2–4 years in a supervisory or lead role and at least 1 year as a warehouse supervisor, ideally in a scaling environment.
• Demonstrated ability to build and document processes where few exist and to grow direct reports; supervisory experience in heavy fabrication or technology assembly, handling large equipment and sensitive electronics, is highly desirable.
• Experience with international logistics and import/export documentation is a strong plus.
Technical Skills
• Strong, execution-level proficiency in WMS and manufacturing ERP, able to configure, troubleshoot, and drive disciplined use, not just navigate. Hands-on Odoo experience is a strong plus.
• Proficiency with inventory tracking software, barcode scanning systems, and MS Office (especially Excel) for tracking, analysis, and reporting.
• Strong inventory control fundamentals and ownership of receiving/shipping; familiarity with lean, 5S, and quality processes (receiving inspection, nonconforming-material handling, GMP).
• Forklift certification and clean driving record required.
Soft Skills
• Strong leadership, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on root-cause analysis.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment where priorities shift quickly.
Physical Demands
• Able to lift up to 50–75 lbs. occasionally, stand/walk for extended periods, and work safely around heavy moving machinery.
