Job Summary:

The E-Commerce Fulfillment Manager is responsible for the, daily operational needs of a multi-channel warehouse and fulfillment center including:  Estate Retail Shops; E-Commerce, and Vanderbilt Wine Club retail products, and is also responsible for Inventory Control function within the Product Warehouse.   Responsibilities will include: support for  planning and budgeting; supervision of operations and staff, including hiring, scheduling, training, performance management, and staff development; and ensuring internal/external services are world-class and in keeping with Biltmore's reputation for gracious hospitality.  The E-Commerce Fulfillment Manager will provide general assistance and support for senior leadership and the company as required.

Job Duties:

  • Develops and executes a plan to manage the receiving, warehousing, distribution, and maintenance of the Retail Fulfillment Warehouse.
  • Oversees the day-to-day operations including timely shipping and receiving, retail shop deliveries, and shipping products to e-commerce guests.
  • Oversees and manages inventory and plans with Inventory Control Supervisor the execution of inventory control plans to meet department financial goals.
  • Hires, trains, and motivates exceptional Warehouse staff.
  • Monitors P & L results working within the budget, identifies cost-saving and efficiency opportunities; supports with strategic planning development and execution.
  • Recommends and implements policies and procedures to control and protect the company’s retail inventory and fixed assets.
  • Establishes effective programs to ensure continuous improvement in Employee Engagement to include: rewards, recognition, communication, and feedback systems.
  • Maintains a timely schedule for reviews and follow-ups, ensuring employees are evaluated annually to promote development and career planning.
  • Performance management including coaching, counseling, and development.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Working with Senior Director, Product Development & Merchandising to develop long-range growth plans and warehouse/inventory strategies.
  • Liaises with Retail, Wine Company, E-Commerce, and other partners.
  • Travels as needed.
  • Serves on internal work teams, committees, and groups; attends external functions and events on behalf of Biltmore as required.
  • General support for department, leadership, and company.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma. Additional education, training, and/or certification(s) preferred. Ideal candidate will have a two- or four-year degree.
  • At least five (5) years of related experience in retail, inventory management and/or operations. Equivalent combination of education/experience considered.
  • Demonstrated commitment to delivery of world-class internal/external guest service; proven leadership skills, ability to build/motivate/develop teams.
  • Strong inventory management skills; ability to anticipate trends, identify opportunities; solid knowledge of best practices.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills; effective at all levels in the organization; builds positive working relationships across the company.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word; basic knowledge of PowerPoint; can quickly learn Biltmore brand identity, product lines, systems, and protocols.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, project, and time management skills; prioritizes work and adapts; keen attention to detail with focus on quality and service.
  • Proactive, exercises good judgment; creatively problem solves; anticipates, troubleshoots; ability to resolve guest service recovery issues successfully.
  • Professional, reflects Biltmore core values at all times; high ethical standards.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel; valid driver's license required.
  • Primarily working in an active office setting, though will also be traveling to Biltmore's Fulfillment, Retail shops, and other estate locations.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to walk/stand; occasionally climb stairs/ladders.
