The C2BMC Next Program, based in Colorado Springs, CO, and Huntsville AL, is seeking a System Safety engineer who will provide support to MDA and other program personnel as required as well as other system engineering tasks as required.

Your primary responsibilities will be to interface with team members and National Team management to ensure high quality products are generated on time and within the resources available.

As a System Engineer, you will work independently or with a small group and be flexible in a highly dynamic and ever-changing environment.

What You Will Do

Responsibilities include integration of the product lines (BM, C2, Networks), generation of responsible sections of the capability specifications, training less experienced personnel in SE and Safety techniques, reviewing the content and details of technical products, and acting as a technical interface to MDA working level counterparts on an as required basis. Regular travel between Colorado Springs and Huntsville will be required.

What You Will Learn

Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to support changes, upgrades, and infrastructure projects. Implement engineering plans within a project. Must be a self-starter - able to lead portions of the activity and direct the activities of junior and mid-level engineers.

Qualifications You Must Have

Candidate will have system engineering and/or software systems engineering experience in developing new and integrating existing systems. Experience should include specific roles in Battle Management and Command & Control systems with an understanding of DoD safety programs Ability to analyze high level needs and through a structured and logical approach refine the need into an integrated set of hardware and software. Excellent communications skills desired (written and oral). Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and  minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience. Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret clearance is required prior to start date

Command and control system application development - Previous experience with message translation software Automated test and pipeline development experience Proficiency in Project Management Tools: Experience using Microsoft Project, Jira, or similar platforms for scheduling, task management, and tracking project progress. Agile Methodology Expertise: Strong understanding and application of Agile methodologies, including SCRUM, for iterative development and team collaboration. Risk Management: Skilled in identifying potential risks, developing mitigation strategies, and implementing proactive solutions to ensure project success. Requirements Management: Experience in decomposing, prioritizing, and managing technical and functional requirements throughout the project lifecycle. Cross-Functional Leadership: Proven ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring alignment across engineering, operations, and program leadership to achieve objectives. Able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings. Able to implement engineering plans within a project.

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). If you live within a reasonable commute of an RTX site with other colleagues you interact with, your manager will discuss whether there is a degree of onsite presence associated with this role.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

Requires advanced to expert knowledge of work area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.

May have broad knowledge of project management. Requires substantial knowledge of RTX projects, programs or systems in order to provide enhancements within job area.

Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience

Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
