Job Purpose

The Sr. Managing Director, Global Client Group is responsible for developing and maintaining strategic growth initiatives related to U.S. institutional plan sponsors ex-Insurance with the goal of raising external capital across the PPM platform (Fixed Income, Private Equity, Investment Grade Private Credit, and Commercial Mortgage Lending).

Essential Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Head of Global Distribution and the broader Distribution team, including Consultant Relations, in developing growth initiatives.

  • Proactively identify, create, and progress opportunities with institutional plan sponsors that intersect with PPM’s existing investment platform.

  • Develop a complete understanding of PPMA's investment strategies, processes, and philosophy and passionately articulate PPMA’s broad investment capabilities with internal and external constituents and consultants with the goal of raising external AUM.

  • Develop and execute a strategic, workable outreach plan in assigned territory consistent with expected and reasonable goals, investment capabilities, and culture of the firm.

  • Successfully represent the firm as differentiated investment thought leader.

  • Help shape the firm's messaging and strategy, engaging various constituents in PPMA in relation to market/industry developments, trends, and competitive positioning.

  • Evaluate relevant industry trends, product innovations, regulatory concerns, and competitive environment to help shape and identify opportunities and new product ideas within PPMA.

  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • In-depth understanding of financial markets and the ability to clearly discuss investment techniques, strategies, and concepts with colleagues, management, and prospects.

  • Demonstrated organizational, conceptual, and analytical skills with an attention to detail.

  • Strong team player with entrepreneurial predisposition.

  • Proven track record in the US institutional plan sponsor market with the ability to confidently communicate and be an advocate for PPM’s broad investment strategies.

  • Ability to proactively solve complex issues through critical thinking.

  • Strong presentation and written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to be consultative and client-focused as well as results-driven is critical, keeping the pulse on the insurance marketplace, product trends, appetites, and evolving strategies.

  • Self-starter that embraces project management and possesses follow-through skills.

  • Strong fixed income background required.

  • Ability to gain expertise within a reasonable timeframe regarding Commercial Real Estate, Private Equity, and Private Credit essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required.

  • Master's Degree or advanced degree preferred.

  • 15+ years of experience in a similar distribution role required.

  • FINRA License 7, 66, or 7, 63, 65 within 180 days of hire required.

  • CFA preferred.

Base Pay:

$250,000.00 - $325,000.00. The base salary for this position may vary depending on experience, job-related knowledge, skills, and abilities. In addition to the base salary, this role will be eligible to participate in our annual bonus program and may be eligible to participate in our long-term incentives program. This role will also be eligible for compensated personal time off and holidays, health benefits, 401(k) plan with generous matching and other benefit programs according to the Company's employment policies and subject to the formal terms of such plans and programs.
