About the job:
Summary of Responsibilities:
The Analyst will be part of the US DCM team responsible for the origination and structuring of debt capital market transactions for BBVA’s U.S. client portfolio. Individual responsibilities will range from analysis of trends and market conditions in the bond markets, preparation of internal reporting, transaction execution and administration and creating marketing material and proposals for existing and prospective U.S. clients.
List Major/Essential Job Duties:
Assist in the preparation of weekly market updates for internal and external clients, discussing bond market conditions and trends across the U.S. and Europe
Identify appropriate pricing parameters for issuers in context of relevant market and peer groups
Prepare and maintain the debt capital markets pricing analysis database
Contribute to the preparation of debt capital markets proposals and marketing materials
Provide support in the preparation of internal credit proposals, involving detailed credit and market analysis
Manage internal deal process through closing and manage deal files
Coordinate and work in conjunction with different departments within BBVA in the U.S. and Europe to successfully meet job responsibilities and duties
Level of Complexity and Risk Involved
Credit and pricing analysis require understanding of financial statement analysis
Financial modeling
Bond/fixed income securities analysis
Investment banking quantitative skills
Scope of Duties
Interaction with professionals from both BBVA NY and the BBVA Group globally
Maintenance of internal reports and their distribution to the appropriate areas
Understanding and development of financial modeling, financial statement analysis, derivative instruments
Oral and written presentations
Preparation and monitoring of the bond closing process
Identification and use of research and tools
Participation in due diligence meetings
Skills, Knowledge, Competencies - Must Have
Degree in Economics, Finance or related field
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to work in a team environment and under tight deadlines
Understanding the principles of the bank and bond market
Financial statement analysis, financial modeling and DCF
Significant experience and comfort with PowerPoint and Excel
Fluent in English
FINRA SIE, Series 79 and Series 63 required (or willing to obtain within 6 months of hire)
Skills, Knowledge, Competencies - Plus
Internship experience in investment banking/capital markets
1-2 years prior working experience in finance or related field
Prior DCM experience
Bloomberg terminal experience

With respect to this position in our New York Office, the expected base salary ranges from $105,000 to $110,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
