About The Role
As our Practice and Systems Lead, you will play a key part in shaping how the systems we use support frontline work with children and families. You will use your practice experience, knowledge and enthusiasm to ensure our systems, processes and tools make sense for practice, improve consistency, and support better outcomes.
This is a unique opportunity to influence how practice and systems work together across the Trust, ensuring that our processes and systems genuinely support good social work and better outcomes for children and families.
In this role, you will sit at the heart of practice, systems and improvement.
You will
- Lead how our case management system supports good practice across all children's social work and social care processes
- Work closely with practitioners, managers and senior leaders to design processes that align with real practice and statutory responsibilities
- Use your initiative to identify challenges, develop solutions, and drive improvements forward
- Connect system design with wider tools and approaches, including direct work tools, assessment frameworks and emerging technology
- Make sure decisions reflect operational processes, best practice and system capability.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and progress system and process improvements to support best Social Care practice
- Work with practitioners, managers and senior leaders to agree and design practical, effective solutions
- Deliver training, workshops and guidance to support 'best practice' use of the system.
- Build strong relationships across services and communicate with a wide range of audiences
- Use initiative to identify challenges, develop solutions and drive improvements
- Maintain oversight of system changes, tracking progress, risks and decisions
About you
You will have
- Experience of working within children's social care (or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of practice processes such as assessment, family help, safeguarding and care planning
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory guidance
- Excellent communication skills, with confidence speaking to groups and senior stakeholders
- Enthusiasm and motivation in your ability to connect with and support colleagues
- Ability to work independently, using initiative to solve complex problems
- Strong organisation skills and a proactive, tenacious approach

This is a hybrid role based in Birmingham so you must reside within a suitable commutable distance around Birmingham and have the correct right-to-work documents to work in the UK. Sadly, we do not support those who require sponsorship.
