Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role

We currently recruiting for a full time support worker opportunity- we are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our team in Scrabster, Thurso on the beautiful coast of Caithness. (37.5 hours per week)

It is essential that you are a driver for this role

What you'll be doing

In this role you will be supporting a gentleman with health and learning difficulties to live independently in his own home and work with a tailored care and support plan to meet his individual needs.

Due to this individual's unique needs, we are looking for people who are energetic and physically active and enjoy the outdoors and a variety of activities including swimming, walking, attending day centre, cinema. It is also important to him to spend time with close family.

Varying shift pattern including waking nights and flexibility to include weekends , hours between 8am -10.30pm are 2:1 support and nights are 1:1 support.

You will provide support in all aspects of daily living including personal care, meal preparation and medication. Previous experience of autism and learning disabilities would be an advantage. Support worker team will be trained in Learning Disability Awareness, Autism Awareness, Visual and Auditory impairment, PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System), Moving and Handling and Sensory Awareness.
