Job description

Who We Are: Watkins Distributing is a family-owned and operated beverage distribution company that has proudly served the communities of Idaho and Montana for four generations.

Job Summary: The Class A CDL Driver is responsible for local delivery and merchandising activities within an assigned territory, ensuring products are delivered safely, accurately, and professionally.

The work schedule consists of 4, 10-hour shifts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete a pre-trip inspection of the assigned vehicle and equipment.
  • Drive a designated route, delivering products safely, efficiently, and professionally while complying with all DOT regulations and traffic laws.
  • Unload products from trailers using a pallet jack and/or hand truck.
  • Verify deliveries with store personnel and check in all products upon arrival.
  • Confirm order accuracy by verifying quantities and obtaining customer signatures.
  • Stock cooler space, shelf space, and promotional displays at each stop.
  • Rotate products in accordance with company freshness and merchandising standards.
  • Retrieve empty keg shells, damaged merchandise, and incorrectly ordered products for return credit.
  • Collect invoices and complete all required route paperwork on a daily basis.
  • Maintain clear communication with sales representatives and retail account personnel.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Preferred Skills & Abilities

  • Prior delivery driving experience is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and no major traffic violations.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Class A CDL and valid medical card.
  • Ability to safely maneuver a fully loaded hand truck.
  • Ability to operate standard handheld computers and route management devices.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Must be able to regularly lift and move beverage cases weighing 20–30 lbs. and lift up to 160 lbs. to waist level. Duties require frequent bending, squatting, reaching, and standing for extended periods.
  • Work is performed independently while servicing multiple retail accounts throughout the day.
  • Must be able to safely operate delivery vehicles in a variety of weather and road conditions.
