Job description
Summary of Position: The Technical Maintenance Manager is responsible for the overall condition, maintenance budgeting, maintenance scheduling, and owner reporting for two assigned fleet aircraft. This role combines leadership, technical expertise, and quality assurance to maintain aircraft safety, reliability, and operational readiness. This is a Safety-Sensitive position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Self-managed flexible shift. Working days and hours will not be consistent. Individuals are expected to monitor the needs of the company fleet and schedule their time accordingly to meet company and individual goals.
· Must work a minimum of 70 billable hours per month correcting discrepancies and performing scheduled inspections on company fleet aircraft. Billed labor hours must be consistent with industry standards.
· Fulfill on-call maintenance duties during non-peak hours as scheduled.
· Ensure all maintenance work is documented accurately and complies with regulatory standards.
· Review and approve maintenance releases and logbook entries.
· Monitor aircraft status and coordinate scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
· Ensure adherence to Safety Management System (SMS) protocols.
· Perform other duties as assigned to support maintenance operations.
Qualifications, Skills, and Requirements
· High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or aviation maintenance training preferred.
· FAA A&P license and FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification required.
· Prior experience in inspection and maintenance management roles.
· Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred or ability to obtain.
· Minimum 5 years of experience in aircraft maintenance.
· Strong knowledge of FAA Part 135 or Part 121 regulations.
· Familiarity with maintenance tracking systems (e.g., CAMP, Corridor, Traxxall).
· Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
· Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Physical Requirements
· Prolonged periods working in hangars and around aircraft, including standing, walking, and climbing.
· Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and reach in confined spaces.
· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
· Ability to work in varying weather conditions and around loud equipment.
· Effective communication in person, by phone, and electronically.
