Compensation: $19.95-$25.00/hour, based on experience

What You'll Do

As a Veterinary Assistant on our Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation team, you'll support patients throughout their rehabilitation journey while helping maintain an efficient, organized department.

Responsibilities include

Assist veterinarians and rehabilitation therapists with therapeutic treatments and patient care

Safely handle and restrain patients using low-stress handling techniques

Prepare patients for rehabilitation therapies, evaluations, and procedures

Monitor patient comfort during treatments and promptly communicate concerns to the medical team

Assist with sample collection and treatment preparation

Provide compassionate, professional client service in person, by phone, and through email

Schedule consultations, rehabilitation appointments, rechecks, and procedures

Review referral records and medical histories before appointments

Maintain accurate medical records and communication logs

Prepare and dispense medications under veterinary supervision

Maintain treatment supplies, equipment, and inventory

Keep the rehabilitation department clean, organized, and ready for patient care

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant

Strong communication and customer service skills

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy

Knowledge of low-stress animal handling techniques

Experience in specialty, emergency, or rehabilitation veterinary medicine is a plus

Familiarity with veterinary software and electronic medical records

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and assist with patients up to 50 pounds

Ability to stand, bend, walk, and kneel throughout the workday

Comfortable working with animals of varying sizes, temperaments, and mobility levels
