Job Summary
Are you a dynamic sales professional passionate about the beverage alcohol industry, high-energy brand activations, and building bulletproof relationships in the market?
We are looking for a Market Manager / Regional Business Development Manager to spearhead the growth of our premium wine portfolio. This is not a desk job. You will be the face of our brands in the field, blending the high-energy world of On-Premise activation (bars, top restaurants, hospitality groups) with strategic Off-Premise business development and distributor management.
If you thrive in the market, love creative trade marketing, and know how to close deals with both trendy local accounts and major distributors, this is the perfect next step for your career.
Key Responsibilities
•
Market Presence & On-Premise Excellence: Spend 70-80% of your time in the field acting as the ultimate brand ambassador. Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, bartenders, sommeliers, and food & beverage directors.
•
Business Development & Distribution Strategy: Partner with regional distributors and wholesalers to expand our portfolio’s footprint. Identify new commercial opportunities, manage pricing strategies, and ensure optimal inventory levels.
•
Commercial Execution: Drive volume and distribution goals across both On-Premise (hospitality, nightlife, restaurants) and selective Off-Premise (boutique retailers, wine shops) channels.
•
Trade Marketing & Events: Plan and execute impactful market activations, wine dinners, staff trainings, and industry events to drive brand awareness and velocity.
•
Insights & Reporting: Track market trends, competitor activity, and sales performance within the territory to provide actionable feedback to leadership.
Qualifications
•
Experience: 3 to 5+ years of sales or market management experience within the beverage alcohol industry (spirits, beer, or wine). While strong wine knowledge is a major plus, a proven track record of commercial execution and passion for the industry is what truly moves the needle.
•
Network: An established network of On-Premise accounts and/or experience working directly with major distributors in the NY/NJ market.
•
Skills: Exceptional communication, negotiation, and storytelling skills. You know how to command a room and close a sale.
•
Mindset: A self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit who loves being on the move, working independently, and managing a flexible schedule (including occasional evening events).
•
Requirements: Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel throughout the assigned territory.
Preferred Qualifications
- WSET, Court of Master Sommeliers, CSW, or similar wine certification preferred.
- Experience representing premium, luxury, or boutique wine brands.
- Knowledge of direct-to-consumer sales, wine clubs, membership programs, and hospitality-driven wine experiences.
- Experience working across multiple markets or regions. Compensation:
- Competitive base salary plus performance-based incentive opportunity.
- Additional compensation details will be discussed during the interview process.
