Project Director – Strengthening U.S. Market Mastery and Investment Ties (SUMMIT)
IREX seeks a Project Director for the anticipated one-year, $500,000, U.S. Embassy-funded Strengthening U.S. Market Mastery and Investment Ties (SUMMIT) program in Jordan. SUMMIT will strengthen investment ties between the U.S. and Jordan by supporting Jordanian entrepreneurs to expand into the U.S. market, including a readiness training program, and by providing opportunities for investment engagement in the U.S. Based in Amman, Jordan, the Project Director will provide overall leadership, technical direction, and management for the program and will serve as the primary liaison with U.S. Embassy Amman, ensuring close coordination under a cooperative agreement requiring substantial Embassy involvement.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall strategic, technical, and operational leadership of the project
- Oversee program implementation across all components, ensuring alignment with program goals and objectives
- Serve as the primary point of contact with the U.S. Embassy Amman
- Oversee design and delivery of the 10-week readiness training program
- Oversee planning and implementation of the U.S. market engagement phase, which includes participation in the SelectUSA Investment Summit
- Ensure high-quality delivery of entrepreneurship support, mentorship, and market-entry guidance
- Coordinate with U.S. stakeholders, private sector partners, and ecosystem actors
- Ensure full compliance with U.S. government regulations, financial requirements, and reporting obligations
- Lead development of program reports, deliverables, and documentation
- Oversee development and implementation of the Monitoring & Evaluation plan
- Guide development of a communications strategy to highlight program results and promote U.S. market opportunities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, international development, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- At least 10 years of progressive experience managing complex donor-funded programs entrepreneurship, private sector development, or trade/investment programs. Experience in managing similar programs in Jordan strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience managing U.S. government-funded projects (e.g., Department of State, USAID, or other U.S. government agencies)
- Demonstrated experience managing teams, budgets, and deliverables
- Strong technical expertise in strengthening commercial and investment ties, private sector engagement, and economic development. Specific knowledge of U.S. market entry, investment promotion, or international trade ecosystems strongly preferred.
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills in both Arabic and English
