GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The S&OP Manager will own and drive JDRF’s Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process across forecasting, supply planning, inventory management, outsourced manufacturing, procurement coordination, and supplier performance.
This role has been expanded to include a stronger focus on Microsoft Dynamics 365 / Business Central system optimization, workflow automation, and supporting the development of ERP extensions to improve supply planning efficiency and scalability.
The role will play a critical part in aligning demand, supply, production capacity, inventory strategy, and operational execution to support company growth and customer delivery objectives. The successful candidate will work cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, and Leadership teams while leveraging Microsoft Business Central / Dynamics ERP systems to improve planning accuracy, operational visibility, and supply chain performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP)
- Lead and manage the company’s S&OP planning process and cadence.
- Develop demand and supply plans aligned with business objectives and customer requirements.
- Coordinate forecasts, production planning, and inventory strategies across internal stakeholders and external manufacturing partners.
- Monitor forecast accuracy, inventory levels, and supply risks while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support executive decision-making through operational planning insights, reporting, and KPI analysis.
Manufacturing Planning & Supply Chain Coordination
- Develop and maintain production and supply schedules for outsourced manufacturing operations.
- Coordinate timelines, production priorities, and capacity planning with contract manufacturers and suppliers.
- Forecast material and resource requirements to prevent shortages and production delays.
- Oversee inventory planning strategies to optimize stock levels while minimizing operational risk and excess inventory.
- Manage inbound and outbound logistics activities to support on-time customer delivery.
Supplier & Contract Manufacturer Management
- Manage relationships with suppliers, contract manufacturers, and logistics partners.
- Evaluate supplier performance related to quality, delivery, responsiveness, and cost objectives.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to ensure compliance with product specifications and operational requirements.
- Support sourcing initiatives, pricing discussions, and supplier negotiations.
ERP, Reporting & Process Improvement
- Utilize Microsoft Business Central / MS Dynamics ERP systems to manage planning, inventory, purchasing, and operational reporting activities.
- Improve ERP data integrity, planning workflows, and reporting accuracy.
- Develop and maintain KPIs, dashboards, and operational reports for leadership review.
- Drive process improvements across supply chain planning, inventory management, and manufacturing operations.
- Support development and enhancement of ERP workflows, including automation opportunities, configuration improvements, and supply planning process optimization within the Microsoft Dynamics / Business Central environment.
- Leverage Microsoft ecosystem tools (Business Central, Dynamics 365, Power Platform) to automate and improve supply planning and reporting workflows.
Cost & Risk Management
- Monitor supply chain and manufacturing costs while identifying opportunities for optimization and efficiency improvements.
- Identify and mitigate operational risks related to supply constraints, component shortages, logistics disruptions, and supplier capacity.
- Support contingency planning and business continuity initiatives.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in supply chain management, manufacturing planning, S&OP, or production planning within the electronics manufacturing industry.
- Hands-on experience working with outsourced manufacturing environments and supplier management.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional planning activities across operations, procurement, and manufacturing teams.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 / Business Central ERP systems in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
- Experience working within Microsoft partner ecosystems or advanced ERP environments involving configuration, workflow optimization, or system enhancement is an asset.
Technical Skills
- Hands-on experience using Microsoft Business Central or MS Dynamics ERP/MRP systems in a manufacturing environment is required.
- Strong understanding of inventory planning, forecasting, supply planning, and manufacturing operations.
- Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and operational reporting tools.
- Experience with ERP automation, workflow optimization, or Microsoft Power Platform tools (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps) is a strong asset.
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.

Certifications
- APICS CPIM (Certified in Planning and Inventory Management) is strongly preferred.
- Candidates actively pursuing CPIM will also be considered.
