Hours:7am-5pm Monday - Friday
Pay: $21-26 an hour

Martin Marietta is currently looking for a Surface Heavy Equipment Operator/Weighmaster at Onaga Quarry located in Onaga, Kansas. This position is responsible for safely operating heavy equipment to move material within the plant.
Essential Functions
- Participate in safety programs and training, promoting Martin Marietta’s Guardian Angel culture
- Inspect equipment for signs of wear
- Perform basic maintenance on heavy mobile equipment
- Work in a team environment
- Clean work areas
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
- Proper wear of personal protective equipment
- Notify supervisors of repairs needed
- Ensure materials are properly loaded according to safety requirements
- Assist in plant maintenance and repairs
- Perform duties with minimum supervision
- Issue weight and product tickets at the scale house
- Work with trucking vendors to schedule and direct trucks
- Communicate with truck drivers to determine destination and material transported.
- Work closely with others in the department to ensure accuracy of tickets and delivery orders
- Professionally accept incoming orders by telephone, email, and any other means and utilize internal systems to accurately process these orders.
- Research problem tickets and proper document findings
- Provide a high level of customer service that reflects company values.
- Performs other incidental and related duties as required.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position and will require 40+ hours per week.
Preferred Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Heavy equipment operations or military experience preferred
- 1 + years related experience
- Valid US driver's license
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of MSHA regulations
- Effective verbal communication
- Knowledge of machines and tools including their design, use and maintenance
Physical Abilities
- Ability to work in an outdoor environment year-round
- General physical activities include climbing stairs and ladders, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, reaching with hands and arms, and handling materials
