Student Ministry Leader

Full-Time • Elizabethtown, KY • On-Site • Reports to: Campus Pastor

Position Overview

Are you passionate about helping students know and follow Jesus? Do you love developing leaders, partnering with parents, and building something that lasts beyond a program? We are looking for leaders who don't just want to run events — they want to shape lives.

Key Responsibilities

TEAM LEADERSHIP & DEVELOPMENT

  • Lead and manage the student ministry staff and volunteer team
  • Recruit, train, and shepherd leaders who are equipped to disciple students one-on-one and in groups
  • Build a culture of accountability, care, and genuine community within your team

PREACHING & TEACHING

  • Preach and teach in ways that are biblically grounded and connect meaningfully with students
  • Use centrally-provided curriculum and resources to reduce prep time and direct more energy toward ministry

PASTORAL CARE & COMMUNITY

  • Pastor, shepherd, and invest in the spiritual growth of students, leaders, and staff
  • Partner with parents as primary disciplers of their children and engage with the broader local community
  • Participate in weekend services through baptisms, announcements, communion, and other pastoral moments

CHURCH-WIDE INTEGRATION

  • Align the campus student ministry with the church's overarching vision and collaborate across campuses
  • Lead students and leaders with clarity through growth and organizational change

Ideal Qualifications

EXPERIENCE

  • 2-3 years of direct experience in student ministry or a formal ministry residency program
  • Track record of building and leading teams, not just executing programs

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE

  • Ability to preach and teach Scripture to students with faithfulness and cultural relevance
  • Familiarity with student ministry tools, curriculum resources, and volunteer management systems
  • Bachelor's degree required

LEADERSHIP & COMMUNICATION

  • Clear, warm communicator who can lead people at different stages of growth
  • Collaborative by default — builds with, not over, the people around you
  • Demonstrates integrity, humility, accountability, and grit in day-to-day leadership
  • Grounded in Scripture and capable of leading through ambiguity without losing people
