Used Car Technician

We are looking for a skilled Used Car Technician to join our team and help ensure our pre-owned inventory is fully reconditioned, safe, and retail-ready. Whether you are a seasoned technician or an up-and-coming A-level tech looking to specialize, Rohrman Auto offers state-of-the-art facilities, strong workflow volume, and ongoing training to help you maximize both productivity and income. Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, inspect, and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle systems on used vehicles
  • Perform multi-point inspections and complete reconditioning work to meet dealership retail standards
  • Complete all repair orders accurately and legibly, documenting parts used, labor time, and repair notes
  • Identify additional needed repairs and communicate clearly with service advisors and used car managers
  • Ensure all vehicles are safe, reliable, and ready for retail sale within required turnaround times
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with shop and OSHA standards
  • Participate in ongoing training to stay current with evolving vehicle technology
  • Support team efficiency by helping prioritize workflow in a high-volume used car department

Requirements

  • ASE certification(s) preferred; candidates actively pursuing certification are encouraged to apply
  • Prior experience as an automotive technician in a dealership or shop setting preferred
  • Experience with vehicle inspection and reconditioning work strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software (brand experience is a plus)
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple repair orders efficiently
  • Own a set of personal hand tools (specialty tools provided by dealership)
