Position Overview: The Clinical Research Lab Technician will support day-to-day laboratory operations within active clinical trials, ensuring accurate sample processing, meticulous documentation, and adherence to all regulatory standards. This role is ideal for candidates who thrive in a fast-paced research environment and are committed to high-quality laboratory practice.
Key Responsibilities
•
Collect, receive, label, and process biological specimens according to study protocols (e.g., blood, urine, saliva).
•
Perform routine laboratory assays and glucose POC testing using YSI machines (e.g., centrifugation, aliquoting, basic molecular or biochemical techniques depending on study needs).
•
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in laboratory logs, study worksheets, and electronic data capture systems.
•
Ensure all lab equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and functioning according to SOPs.
•
Follow Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), and all institutional and regulatory requirements.
•
Assist in inventory management, including ordering supplies and tracking reagent usage.
•
Collaborate closely with clinical coordinators, research nurses, and investigators to ensure seamless study operations.
•
Support quality control activities and participate in audits when required.
Qualifications
•
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Laboratory Science, or related field.
•
Previous experience in a clinical or research laboratory setting preferred - especially Phase 1..
•
Strong understanding of laboratory safety practices and specimen handling.
•
Excellent organizational and time-management skills with high attention to detail.
•
Ability to follow complex instructions, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
•
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
•
Proficiency with basic lab equipment and computer systems.
