Then being the Family Service Worker at Southfield Public Early Childhood Center might be the exact fit for you!
- Recruit eligible children/families to ensure continuous full enrollment.
- Provide family assistance through support, guidance and referrals by regular parent contact through home visits, center visits, phone calls and letters.
- Work in cooperation with team to provide support services to teams families and develop parent activities
- Develop an understanding and awareness of community agencies/ organizations that provide services to children and families; and participate in community service organizational meetings
- Organize meetings, workshops and trainings for parents. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Human Services or Family Life Management
- Working Knowledge of Head Start practices, guideline and procedures. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Demonstrated experience working with community agencies, parents and national/state organizations.
- Valid Driver's License
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual (Spanish/ English) preferred
- Michigan No Fault Insurance in accordance with statutory requirements.
Salary: $40-45K a year
