Senior Retail Media Insights Analyst
Role Purpose
The Insights function is enabled by large-scale enterprise data assets, advanced analytics, and applied research capabilities to generate actionable insights that support commercial decision-making, customer growth, and business performance.
The Senior Retail Media Insights Analyst is responsible for analysing complex datasets, identifying trends and opportunities, and translating findings into clear, actionable insights that inform planning, optimisation, and performance improvement across the business. The role partners closely with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure data-led insights are understood, applied correctly, and embedded into decision-making processes.
This role requires strong analytical capability, the ability to connect data to business context, and the discipline to deliver accurate, high-quality insight outputs at scale.
Job Description
Data Analysis and Insight Generation
- Collect, clean, analyse and interpret data from defined internal and external sources to generate actionable insights.
- Identify trends, patterns, risks and opportunities through structured analysis and deep dives.
- Perform root cause analysis to address defined business questions or performance challenges.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity and consistency across all analyses and insight outputs.
Insight Translation and Storytelling
- Translate analytical findings into business-relevant insight narratives and recommendations. Present insights in clear, concise and stakeholder-appropriate language.
- Create insight packs, presentations and reporting outputs aligned to business objectives.
Reporting and Performance Measurement
- Develop standard and ad hoc reports, dashboards and commentary to track performance.
- Apply appropriate metrics, benchmarks and performance indicators to support decision-making.
- Support the continuous improvement of reporting frameworks and measurement approaches.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with cross-functional teams to understand insight requirements and priorities.
- Act as a trusted analytics partner by supporting effective use of insights in planning and optimisation.
- Support insight enablement by ensuring outputs are correctly interpreted and applied.
- Continuous Improvement and Learning
- Stay current with industry trends, data methodologies and analytical techniques.
- Contribute to improved analytical practices, tools and processes within the Insights function.
Role-Specific Responsibilities: Senior Retail Media Analyst
- Analyse retail media performance data across campaigns, platforms and channels.
- Generate campaign-level and post-campaign insights to inform optimisation, planning and future media strategies.
- Support media performance measurement frameworks, tracking methodologies and tagging standards.
- Translate retail media data into actionable insights for sales teams, media partners and clients.
- Contribute to media planning inputs by aligning insights to audience, category and campaign objectives.
- Stay current with retail media trends, tools and measurement methodologies.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree or Diploma in Business, Marketing, Analytics, or a related field – (essential).
- +5 years’ experience in a similar capacity, buying or category management – (essential). Demonstratable hands-on analytics experience - generating actionable insights and doing data deep-dives - (essential).
- Experience translating data into digestible insights for media sales and client campaign recommendations and presentations - (essential)
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) - (essential)
- Media analysis, data analytics, or related roles/experience in the advertising or marketing industry- (desirable).
- Demonstratable ability influencing, establishing and maintaining strong relationships with management, internal partners, and external clients - (desirable)
Key Competencies and Work Ethic
- Retail Media Insights and Reporting – Sound understanding of retail media processes for data collection, processing, analysis to provide accurate reports and/or dashboards that meet the requirements of the target audience. Applies sound knowledge and skills in using data visualization tools, developing dashboards and selecting the most relevant key performance metrics in a manner that will enable insights and decision-making.

Able to analyze retail media insights with a desire to learn more about the trends shaping consumer behavior today, and in the future.
