Middle General QA Engineer (Ukraine)

We are currently seeking a skilled Manual QA Engineer with 3+ years of experience to join our growing team.

Project Description

The project is part of a large-scale enterprise ecosystem operating across multiple sectors, including finance & legal, care & support, sales, and telecommunications. It is in an active phase of continuous development and maintenance, with several dedicated product teams and an autonomous QA team. The environment is dynamic, with regular feature releases, ongoing updates, and plans for launching new applications.

This is a large Swiss enterprise project covering finance and law, care and support, sales, and telecommunications. We offer long-term cooperation within an international team, with ambitious plans for growth and the launch of new products.

Responsibilities

• Able to quickly learn functional and technical processes in a complex product environment.
• Perform manual testing of new features, regression areas, and release candidates.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Development, QA, and Automation teams to improve test coverage and ensure the quality of deliverables.
• Prepare test prerequisites, including test data setup using SQL queries and API requests.
• Execute manual test cases, analyse results, and report software defects in Jira.
• Verify fixes and perform regression / sanity checks to ensure that issues are resolved.
• Support and maintain existing automation scripts related to test data preparation (SQL) and API testing.
• Gradually contribute to automation activities, including API-related checks and later Web UI test scenarios using BDD / Gherkin.
• Report on test results and defect reports.
• Maintain clear and up-to-date test documentation.
• Communicate with development and business stakeholders to clarify requirements, define test coverage, and share testing results.
• Use AI tools as a supportive copilot for daily QA tasks where appropriate.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, testing practices, and team knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in manual QA testing, preferably in complex product environments.
• English level B2 (Upper-Intermediate) at least is a must.
• At least 1 year of hands-on automation experience.
• Experience with Java is preferred, but candidates with automation experience in other programming languages can also be considered.
• Good practical knowledge of SQL, especially for test data preparation, validation, and working with database queries.
• Experience with API testing, using tools such as Postman, ReadyAPI, or similar.
• Good understanding of automation principles and ability to support, maintain, and run existing automation scripts.
• Basic understanding & experience of BDD approach and Gherkin syntax.
• Deep knowledge of testing approaches, test design techniques, regression testing, bug reporting, and general QA theory.
• Ability to execute manual test cases independently, analyse results, and clearly report defects.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with Development and Business stakeholders.
• Proactive attitude, eagerness to learn, and willingness to gradually strengthen the automation side of the QA process.
• Practical experience using AI tools to support daily work tasks.

Tools

• Knowledge of automation Testing tools and frameworks.
• Good Knowledge of Jira/Confluence and Gitlab.
• Good Knowledge of Test Management Tool Xray/Zephyr or equivalent.
• Good Knowledge of Postman/ReadyAPI tools.

Would Be a Plus

• ISTQB FL certificate.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering i.e Computer Science.
