Full Time Physical Therapist M-F 8-4:30, one weekend a month - Danbury Hospital
Summary
Physical Therapists provide services that identify, prevent, remediate, and rehabilitate acute or prolonged physical dysfunction or pain with emphasis on physical dysfunction. Therapy encompasses evaluation and analysis of patients and therapeutic application, physical and chemical agents, exercise, instruction to patient/family and other procedures to maximize functional independence. Clinical responsibilities may include treatment of pediatric and/or adults and mature adults. May treat in any of these locations: in-patient, out-patient and pediatrics.
Responsibilities
- Performs physical therapy evaluations. Demonstrates technical skill and accuracy in performing basic evaluation procedures.
- Performs physical therapy treatment planning and implementation. Utilizes appropriate interventions, procedures & equipment as defined by specialty area.
- Provides patient/family education and training.
- Provides peer reviews and participates in performance improvement activities.
- Completes documentation based on department guidelines.
- Initiates discharge planning.
- Continuing education: attends 20 hours per year, provides 1 hour of inservice education to staff per year.
- Provides observation experience/lecture to students.
- Participates in orienting, teaching, guiding and evaluating assistive personnel.
- Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Other Information
Required: Minimum Experience: zero to six months Desired: Functional Independent Measurement (FIM) certification in Physical Therapy rehab settings. CPR certification.

Physical Effort: Very Heavy effort. May exert up to 50 lbs. force
