Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Processing

  • Post daily transactions to subsidiary accounts in appropriate ledgers or computer files
  • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions accurately and on schedule
  • Reconcile cash, credit card, and electronic payment receipts
  • Post journal entries and assist with general ledger maintenance
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities
  • Prepare and mail monthly statements to customers
  • Receive and record payments from customers

Compliance & Internal Controls

  • Follow dealership accounting policies and internal control procedures
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records
  • Protect confidential financial and customer information
  • Verify accuracy of customer invoices using the DMS (dealership management system)

Reporting & Administrative Support

  • Prepare routine accounting reports and schedules as requested
  • Maintain accounting files, schedules, and supporting documentation
  • Respond to internal inquiries from management and other departments
  • Assist with audits and manufacturer reporting as needed

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; accounting coursework or degree preferred
  • Prior accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferably in an automotive dealership
  • Familiarity with dealership accounting processes and terminology preferred
  • Experience with dealership management systems (DMS) such as Reynolds & Reynolds or CDK is a plus
  • Strong data entry, math, and reconciliation skills

Skills & Competencies

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to handle high transaction volume and meet deadlines
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
  • Professional communication skills and ability to work across departments
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality
