We’re hiring an Assistant Commissary Manager based in Colorado!

The Assistant Commissary Manager will be responsible for managing Commissary operations including setting daily production numbers, aiding in production, packing, and inventory. This role will assist the Commissary Manager to create an efficient work environment and make sure all Commissary orders are fulfilled accurately and on time. You will be responsible for supporting high operational standards by continuing to hold yourself and your team members to the provided checklists, recipe specs, and other standardized tools.

Your responsibilities will be

  • Support the Commissary Manager in leading daily Commissary operations, including production, distribution, inventory management, and food quality.
  • Help communicate the vision of Call Your Mother to the team and ensure our standards are executed every day.
  • Supervise daily production to ensure recipes, quality standards, food safety practices, and production schedules are consistently met.
  • Assist with labor, inventory, food cost, and waste management to support operational efficiency while maintaining high-quality products and a positive team environment.
  • Monitor ingredient and supply inventory, receive deliveries, maintain accurate inventory records, and coordinate timely reorders to prevent shortages.
  • Ensure all Commissary areas comply with health and safety regulations, food safety standards, company policies, and cleanliness expectations.
  • Support training, coaching, and development of Commissary team members, reinforcing safe work practices, operational standards, and company values.
  • Assist with administrative responsibilities including timekeeping audits, invoice approvals, inventory reporting, Commissary-to-shop product transfers, and operational documentation.
  • Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and service providers to ensure timely deliveries, equipment maintenance, and resolution of operational issues.
  • Monitor production accuracy, packaging, and order fulfillment to ensure shops receive the correct products on schedule.
  • Track food waste, monitor portion control, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce production costs.
  • Maintain clear communication with shop teams, Supply Chain, and Commissary leadership to ensure smooth daily operations and quickly resolve issues.
  • Step into leadership responsibilities in the Commissary Manager's absence, providing calm, organized support and helping the team navigate changing priorities.
  • Lead by example with a hands-on approach, helping wherever needed while creating a positive, accountable, and collaborative work environment.

You’ll be a great addition to the CYM team if you

  • 2+ years of experience as a baker or prep cook in a food production environment.
  • 1+ year of supervisory or leadership experience in a food production, Commissary, or high-volume kitchen environment.
  • Working knowledge of food production, inventory management, food safety standards, labor scheduling, and cost control.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities while meeting production deadlines.
  • ServSafe Manager Food Safety Certification.
  • Experience using computer systems and the ability to quickly learn new software.
  • A hospitality mindset and passion for delivering quality products that create exceptional guest experiences.
  • Outstanding communication, coaching, and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
  • A hands-on leadership style and willingness to work alongside the team.
  • A positive, high-energy attitude that thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • The ability to identify problems, stay calm under pressure, and help implement effective solutions.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, evenings, overnight shifts, and at multiple Commissary locations as business needs require.
  • A valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Spanish language skills are preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout a shift.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, squat, stoop, kneel, twist, reach (including overhead), and perform repetitive motions throughout a shift.
  • Manual dexterity to safely operate equipment, tools, and technology.
  • Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment around hot equipment, sharp tools, and varying temperatures, including refrigerated areas.
  • Ability to see, hear, speak, read, and communicate effectively while maintaining awareness of surroundings and following safe work practices.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, occasionally outdoors when required by the role.
