Job description

Proven experience as a steel welder, fabricator welder, or similar role. Relevant welding certification or apprenticeship qualification preferred. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and fabrication plans. Experience with structural steel fabrication and assembly. Knowledge of welding processes including MIG, TIG, and MMA. Strong understanding of workplace health and safety practices. Good attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding specifications. Prepare steel materials for welding, including measuring, cutting, grinding, and fitting. Perform MIG, TIG, and/or MMA welding on structural steel and metal components. Assemble fabricated steel structures and ensure dimensional accuracy. Inspect completed welds to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications. Operate welding and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently. Carry out repairs and modifications to steel structures as required. Maintain a clean and safe working environment in accordance with Irish health and safety regulations. Report equipment faults, defects, and safety concerns to supervisors. Work collaboratively with fabricators, fitters, engineers, and site personnel.
